"What?"

Napatigil ako sa pagsubo ng pagkain sa narinig. I looked at him, waiting for him to say that he's just kidding, but no. There's a grin on his face, but seriousness is evident on his eyes.

"You heard me." He playfully said na tuluyan kong ikinabitaw sa mga hawak kong utensils.

"But we can't!" Pagkontra ko sa gusto niyang mangyari.

"Who says we can't? We can, and we're starting it today." He said at mukhang hindi ko na mababago pa ang isip niya.

But still, for the last time, I tried to make him understand that we can't.

"Listen... We can't go to school together. You're a professor, I'm a student. It's not good to see that we are getting out of the same car. Lalo pa't we're not even relatives."

Ito kasing asungot na to... He told me that we'd be entering school together from now on. I don't know what's his reason, pero hindi pwede. Mom told me of human's unrightful judgments towards everything they see. And all their judgments have connections with romance or love.

Just by smiling, everyone thinks you're inlove. Just by crying, everyone thinks you're broken. Just by talking to someone, everyone thinks that he's your partner.

And i don't want to end up having issues with this guy. Knowing human's, baka just by merely seeing us looking at each other, isipin na nila kaagad ay may relasyon kami. What more kung makita nila kami na sabay na lumabas ng kotse?

"What's with a professor-student thing?" Tanong niya na ikinatawa ko nang pagak.

"Between us two, you should know better about humans because you live with them. They are born with malicious minds." I said in a matter-of-fact tune.

He raised his eyebrow at me that made me narrow my eyes. He looks gay...

"You speak as if you're not half-human." Sabi niya matapos ay sinubo ang karne na nasa tinidor na hawak niya.

Napaismid naman ako sa sinabi niya. I am fully aware that I'm half-human, pero si Mommy na mismo ang nagsabi ng mga iyon saakin kahit pa purong tao siya. She said it's just one of the minor dark flaws of humans. Meaning, there's still more of it.

"Whatever. Basta hindi tayo pwedeng sabay na pumasok."

AS the car passes by some pedestrians, makikita mo na kaagad ang tingin sa mga mata nila. Kumikinang iyon habang nakatingin sa kotseng sinasakyan ko.... NAMIN.

All throughout the ride, wala akong ibang ginawa kundi ang bumusangot. While the vampire on the driver's seat is smiling so wide na para bang nanalo siya as a Guinness Book of World Records' holder.

Kahit pa tinted ang window, pilit na tinakpan ko ang mukha ko nang makitang pumasok na kami sa school premises. The professors have their parking lots inside. I told him na bababa na ako kanina but he just acted like he haven't heard anything. Kaya ang ending, sa loob ako mismong bababa, kasama niya.

Students were all looking at the car with awe and envy in their eyes. As we passed by the university gate, agad na nakita ko ang pamilyar na mukha roon.

Samantha... And she's not alone. She's with Lucy.

Napakagat ako sa labi ko bago ako napatingin sa asungot na nagmamaneho.

"Can you stop the car?" Alanganing tanong ko sakanya. Kumunot naman ang noo niya at bahagya akong nilingon.

"Why? We're almost in the parking."

Napabuntong-hininga na lang ako sa sinabi niya. The parking is not that far from the gate. And also, naisip ko na mas maraming makakakita kapag doon ako mismo bumaba. That won't do. Kaya hinintay ko na lang na makarating kami sa parking.
