Adonis nonchalantly draped his backpack strap over one shoulder as he walked towards the school's front office. It was just the beginning of the second week of the school year, and he had recently transferred to a new school, one conveniently closer to his home.

While moving through the hallways, Adonis couldn't ignore the inquisitive and searching gazes of others. His tardiness that day was because his son had a doctors appointment, and he was firmly committed to never missing significant moments in his child's life. He had made a promise to always be there. No one could shake the love Adonis had for his son.

He turned the doorknob to the front office and entered, making a beeline for the reception desk.

"Um. H-hi." The girl stuttered as she stared up at a chocolate Adonis.

Adonis sported a stylish taper fade with twists, a fresh look he'd acquired at his uncle's barbershop just the day before. He maintained his well-groomed appearance, no matter where he was going.

She asked, with a flirtatious tone, "What's your name?"

"Adonis McKnight."

After a brief pause, she located his name and proceeded to print out his schedule, extending it to him with a suggestive offer, "If you need a tour guide, I can show you around."

Adonis declined graciously, replying, "Nah, I think I've got it from here. Thanks, though." He exited the front office, studying his schedule.

Right now they were in fifth period and he had chemistry. He studied the map as he traveled up the hallway searching for the classroom. The hallways were still a little crowded since fifth period was just starting. Examining his surroundings, Adonis could see that they were staring at him. He didn't understand why. Maybe it was because he was a new student. He knew for a fact that nothing was on his face and toilet paper wasn't sticking to his shoe.

When he eventually located the classroom, the students were already crowded inside, and the bell rang overhead. He settled into a seat beside the sole African-American girl in the room, who occupied the back row, deeply engrossed in taking notes.

Adonis couldn't help but be captivated by her. Her beauty shone with her rich brown complexion and stylish box braids, evoking a resemblance to a Bratz doll. She met his gaze once she became aware of his staring.

Ember's cheeks flushed with a quick blush as she glanced down, her heart racing. She could hear his chuckle before he shifted his gaze away. The curiosity about why he had been staring at her gnawed at her. She couldn't help but wonder if something was wrong with her appearance.

In a hurry, she retrieved her small mirror from her bag and examined herself, finding nothing out of place. She closed the mirror and tucked it back into her bag, resisting the urge to check if he was still looking at her, her shyness getting the best of her.

When it came to dealing with guys, Namiko and Madison were the experts, although Ember only interacted with them when they were picking on her brother.

As Jacoby entered the classroom, he chose the seat next to her on the opposite side and flashed her a friendly smile.

"Ember, what's up?" Jacoby asked as he pulled his things out of his bag. He was almost yelling because his headphones were in and they were on blast. Jacoby removed them to hear Ember.

"Hi Jacoby." Ember says nervously. She had a small crush on him and so did Madison. Ember knew that Jacoby felt the same way about her but she didn't want to break girl code.

"You must be new." Jacoby says as he looked over to Adonis.

Adonis nodded, "Yeah."

Ember finally looked over at him and their eyes locked for a moment. Adonis licked his lips, slowly which only caused her to break their stare again. He noticed that Ember was very petite, as his eyes roamed her body. She had hips, thighs, with a nice small round butt. In his eyes, her body was naturally perfect and she didn't have to do much to get his attention.
