Three weeks later...

"Oh god, what if she is mine?" Chris said as he paced around the waiting room, grabbing fistfuls of his hair.

I stood up and placed my hand on his shoulder, but he shook it off and started pacing around. "Chris? Chris, please- no, CHRIS!" He stopped and turned to face me, with a worried expression plastered all over his face.

"Chris, please. Calm down, okay?" He sighed and sat down heavily in the chair. "I just...fuck." He sat back and rested his head against the wall. "I can't just calm down."

"If she is yours then...then...fuck, I don't know. Just please, calm down." He shot me a dark look before the doctor doing the DNA test called us in. I squeezed his hand and we walked in. Gaia was sat down, with a mask of fury on her face, and her daughter was sitting with her legs crossed.

"She isn't yours. The DNA test came back with a 40% match." Chris frowned, and went to ask something but Gaia opened her mouth. "She's your brothers." She sneered before standing up and grabbing her daughter by the hand, dragging her out with a dark look.

Chris slumped back, in relief? I didn't know, and I didn't really want to. "Does that mean she's my niece?"
"Yes."

Chris looked at me with glimmering eyes before he pulled me into his arms, clearly not caring that someone was watching.

"I'm so sorry...I should've listened to you, I don't even know why I listened to her." I breathed out, hugging him back softly. I let my eyes slip shut as I rested my head on his shoulder.

"Oh baby, this is great news." He said softly before we left, thanking the doctor. "I know."

Sixteen years later...

"Kids! You're gonna be late for school!"

"Whatever, Dad!" Damian yelled back, slamming his door shut. Chris wrapped his arms around me and kissed me softly, sighing.

"He's never gonna change is he?"
"So what? He's our son, and there's nothing I wouldn't do for him, Chris, baby." Chris nodded and rested his head on my shoulder.

"I'm so tired." He grumbled before breaking out into a loud coughing fit. "Chris?" I said, alarmed.

He waved my worry away before coughing again. As soon as I saw the blood, I screamed. Dani and Damian ran down, and they looked at their Dad with wide, scared eyes.

"Dad? Daddy? Daddy!?" Dani sobbed, rushing forward and hugging him. Damian ran out, and called someone. Chris fell to the floor with how much he was coughing.

I pulled his head into my lap, stroking his hair frantically. He smiled and kissed the palm of my hand. "Don't worry so much, Raccoon. I'll be fine, baby. Trust me." I would've, but he started coughing again.

Tears fell from my eyes as the paramedics rushed in, and hauled him onto the stretcher. "Ricky, take the kids to school, my love." Before I could reply, he was gone.

"What's wrong with Dad, Daddy?" I rushed forward and pulled a weeping Dani into my arms. "He'll be fine baby girl, don't worry. Don't worry, okay?" Damian said nothing, he looked at me with a broken expression.

"He'll be fine." I said more firmly, stroking Dani's hair softly until she stopped crying. Dani wanted to keep her natural blonde hair while Damian dyed it black, probably to match mine and Chris'.

But he wouldn't admit that, of course. "Come on, sis. Ill drop us in today. Dad needs to go see Dad."
"Okay...y-you'll let us know what's going on..right Dad?"

"Of course baby, go on. I'll pick you two up after school and we'll go see your dad okay?" She nodded and eventually left, with Damian pulling her softly out the room.
