Chapter sixteen

I felt like its been ages i talked to folashade.. the thought of how i met her few weeks back was still vivid.. Damn i missed her!

I woke up this morning with a mixed feeling..all through the night i had different thoughts and question to myself..how do i deal with sam, i wanted to end the relationship right this instance but deep down i didn't know or how or when..but i wanted to leave sam without leaving a trace of hate for me in her heart..

I went to the bathroom to clean myself.. after few minutes i made some phone calls, i was disturbed by a knock on my door! i heard my mother called out for me

"Ola mi, shey o ti ji ni? "(ola, haven't you woken up?)

"Mum, am awake you can come in" i dropped my towel on the bed and opened the door allowing her in "good morning mum"i said
"Kaaro oko mi(good morning my dear)
"hope you slept well" i said and helped her settle on a chair.

"Yes dear....and why haven't you dressed up, this is past seven" she said with a small frown
"For what mum?" i said, i was totally confused
"don't you know today is Sunday? wait, don't tell me you don't go to church" she said with all seriousness in her voice
To be sincere, i was a little scared, because every statement my mother makes, is about me getting a wife and settling down
"Oh! seriously mum, i forgot, i had a lot going on my mind lately, it skipped my mind" i said in an apology manner

"That doesn't answers my question ola, don't you go to church?" She repeated slowly, i let out a small smile, i took a chair beside her,  holding her hands..
"Mum, of course i go to church, believe me..it skipped my mind today"
"That is good, one should be never too busy for God" she said smiling down at me
"True mum, certainly...I will be ready in twenty minutes" i said..i opened my wardrobe and picked out my outfits to get ready
"Oh, that reminds me, what of Collins, is he aware am here already?"
"Yes mum, i will put a call to him niw to join us at the church, he asked after you this morning when i called him on the phone"

"Alright..i will be in the room, let me know when you are done" she said and left the room"

12:45pm..

We were back from the church..I, mum, and Collins.. Yes! he joined us at the church earlier, my mother was so happy to see him, she considers Collins as her own son.. When Collins parents died in an accident many years back, he stayed with my family for five years before his aunty took him abroad..

We all settled on the sofa in the parlor, while mum and collins were chatting happily..believe it, mum loves Collins.. I left them both and headed inside my bedroom to freshen up, i heard a rumbling of hunger..i hasten myself and  washed up quickly and went back into the parlor, i didn't see my mother nor Collins, i heard their voices from the kitchen...i walked up slowly to the kitchen, they were so engrossed in what they were doing, they didn't noticed i was already at their back...

"Collins..mum began, don't you talk to your friend, he is no longer a child, its high time he settles down, always its about business talks and some other unnecessary things, and i think he is purposely punishing me, i should be carrying my own grand kids, just last month i went to my friend's ceremony party, she welcomed her third grand child, when i carried that child i felt the joy within me like it were my own...please talk to him, he seems so uncomfortable whenever i tried talking to him about it.." she said
i sensed pains through her discussion with Collins...
"Collins i hope you understand everything i said perfectly?"
"Yes mum, i do..i also do not relent on this issue, i made sure i feed words into him and his reply is he would get a wife soon which i believe so because he is making a progress towards it, so mum, be rest assured, please do not worry too much" he said to my mother.. Their discussion continues

"That remind me collins, where is your own wife? have you also planned to remain a bachelor like your friend?" she asked

I laughed silently because i knew that question came as a shock to Collins
"Hmmm...mum..i am still..planning, no, i mean the lady i intend to marry says she needs a little time, she..."

Just then i chipped into their discussion making my presence known.... "Mum, Collins will get a wife soon, please do not bother the poor guy", i said defending him..

"Look at the both of you, you should learn to speak the truth to each other birds of the same feather" she hissed at us and left the kitchen, we both laughed hard after she left..like I said, my mother is so dramatic, i could remember those days she would sit me down to give advices that i focus dearly on my education.. Funny mum!

Collins and i prepared lunch quickly...after our effort to make a nice meal, mum was dissatisfied with the food with comments that  it would have tasted better if my wife prepared it..
While we were still eating, there was a knock at the door, i reluctantly stood up to check who was knocking, i opened the door, lo and behold it's sammy! i have never seen her this way before, her mode of dressing was more like a stripper, i was shocked!

She entered only to throw fakes kisses at me, i was disgusted, her mere sight irritates me.."baby i missed you so much" she said
she walked into the house and met mum and Collins eating, my mother was so shocked to see sam, immediately i sensed trouble!
