Chapter nineteen

I sat uprightly on the bed reminiscing about my family especially my mother, my life! for so many reasons i wasn't able to sleep properly through the night, the alarm rings kept disturbing me, its 6:40 am, i lazily got out of the bed ensuring as possible not to wake temmy, i made my way into the bathroom to clean myself...

After i was done, i went back inside but temmy was already up.. she stretched her body yawning

"Good morning baby" she said
drawing closer for a hug

"Good morning mum" i replied in a sarcastic manner

"What's up? do we have any appointment today? dis one you are this early, i hope you are alright?" she questioned jokingly

"Oh no!, i just couldn't sleep, am tired of this kind of life am living with my mom, at least if there's a way i have offended her, she should have called, even scold me or punish me, temmy i can't seems to understand her, there's no mother-daughter relationship between us, we can't even have a proper conversation without her insulting me or slapping me, am just tired of all these!" i explained frustrated

"bestie, i understand your pain, but everything will be fine soon, am sure your mom loves you, maybe that's her own way of showing love but deep down she loves and cares for you and i bet she always wants the best for you, everything in life is temporary, so if things are going bad don't worry it can't last forever... now, i dont want you to start your day with this kind of mood, so cheer up now, believe me with time, everything will be alright"

"thanks mom,  i said and hugged her right away...i feel better now" i replied sincerely..

"That's my girl" she said and we bursted into laughter..

"Don't you feel we should go shopping this afternoon?" She asked

"Arrg, shopping again, aren't you tired" i asked feeling exhausted all of a sudden

"No, am not" she said urging me to get out of bed " we need to workout this morning, you escaped it yesterday and a day before it, we need to keep you in perfect shape, remember you said ola is coming in two weeks time" she said pulling my legs...seriously i admire temmy, she has this perfect shape, that could make a man go crazy, she is a black beauty  she is the opposite of me in terms of stature, but have got a beautiful eyes so she tells me always, lol! Funny me, really i love everything about her! I love my girl..

"Ehn, you have to carry me o" i said laughing knowing too well she wouldn't be able to lift me up..

4 hours later!

"Are you sure i look perfect in this dress?" Temmy asked, after much argument we settled on staying home to relax instead of shopping as usual, but her boyfriend promised to visit later in the day, since then temmy has  been very nervous and restless trying different outfit just to look perfect! i told her  she looks beautiful in everything she wears but she  wouldn't just agree with me..after what seems like thirty minutes she decided to wear a crop off shoulder top with a jean trouser..
"So when are we expecting him?" I said.

"He should be here by 12 pm..." she replied excitedly, trying to arrange her room, we made sure everywhere else was neat, the maids insist they do the cleaning  but we told them to consider it a free day.. We worked hastily, mom was so suprised she later left for her business ensuring us to stay home, we wondered why she said so..

He came later  than expect, one of the female servants came and informed us a man is outside asking of temmy "send him inside" i said as temmy rushed back into the room to retouch her makeup!  funny girl..

"Good afternoon david" i greeted welcoming him inside the living room, he admired the sitting room

"Good afternoon shade" giving me the sweetest smile ever! i must confess David is  handsome, very light in complexion that he could pass for an half caste,great sense of fashion, pink lips..wow!  He's graced with a good heigh, he looks smart

Before he could ask of temmy, i quickly chipped in that i would go get temmy right away
"Make yourself comfortable, i will go and inform temmy you are here " i said as i hurried upstairs

"Are you sure am  very ok?" temmy asked as she took one last glance  at the mirror

"Sweetie, you are perfect, now don't keep your man waiting for long" i smiled and we both left for the living room

I left temmy and david downstairs, they chatted happily i quickly left with the gifts he brought for temmy, later i settled on the bed watching the television! my mind wandered away, i missed talking to ola... I quickly dialed his phone number, it wasn't available
"Argg" I let out in frustration, inspite of that i smiled to myself remembering how things has been going between i and ola..

I don't know how long i have been on the bed, i surfed through Instagram checking different posts, i sent message to ola on whatsapp, he didn't reply, i guess he's busy with work
Suddenly i heard a loud bang on the door, i frowned at first, then temmy rushed inside the room crying, she flunged herself on the bed... I was confused " whats going on?" already on my feet,

"Temmy, what happened to you, why are you crying" i asked once again
She sat up facing me still crying, she tried to speak but i couldnt gather a thing she said, her make up was ruined! What could have happened, i thought within myself

"Ok, you need to calm down now and tell me what happened, is it David?" she nodded a no reply

"Temmy, father is back!" she said, i felt like a bomb dropped suddenly.. For some reason my heart begin to race faster, but why is she crying like this?

"Temmy, explain to me...." i was unable to finish my statement my uncle barged inside our room.. I was shocked to see him

"Good mor...ning, no, g..ood after..noon sir, i stuttered forcing a smile out, i guess he wasn't buying any of that, he came closer to me firing me hot daggers in the eyes  before i knew what was happening the next minute he gave me a resounding slap, i fell across the bed immediately holding my left cheek

"how dare you?" he barked, hot tears fight way down my cheeks, i was lost why am i been slapped? what have i done wrong?, i asked myself for an answer
