"Bertram, you look so happy. Did your cheese or the week come in?" Jessie asked as she packed the kid's backpacks.
"Better. It's the day I've waited for since summer began. The end of summer!"
"Try to contain yourself, Bertram. You're drooling in our eggs." Luke said as he rolled his eyes.
"My plan for this year is to reduce my wedgie ratio to one per fortnight." Ravi said.
"Yeah, if you keep using words like fortnight, it's gonna be a long, wedgierific year." Luke said.
"I just hope I don't have to sit next to Gross Gus again. He's always shoving stuff up his nose! He claims he doesn't know what happened to my crayon, but how does he explain that magenta snot?" Zuri asked as she rolled her eyes.
"Oh my! Look at the time. You don't wanna be tardy on your first day back!" Bertram said as he took their plates.
"But I'm still eating! Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait!" Luke said as he put his head under the plates while Bertram scraped them into the trash.
"Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on! We're gonna be late. Let's go. There you are!" Jessie said as she handed out the book bags.
"Thank you!"
"Love you!"
"Love you, too!" Zuri, Emma, and Chloe chorused as they headed for the elevator.
"Have a good day!"
"Thank you."
"Alright, be good! I love you!" Jessie said as the kids got in the elevator.
"Bye! Bye, Jessie. Bye, Bertram."
"They're probably celebrating that we're gone." Luke said.
"No, they aren't."
"Yes, they love us too much." Ravi said before Chloe hit the button to go back to the penthouse.
