I had gotten changed back into my usual jeans so I could go to this Alpha meeting. I thought it'd be inappropriate to show up in a short skirt. I walked downstairs and found Damien ready to go.

"Hey." I said with a small wave. He didn't reply. Did I push him too far? He walked out the front door and I followed him. We walked in dead silence for an hour before we arrived at Alpha Cameron's pack. We were greeted by his fighters and they led us to the pack house. It was nice and modern. We went inside and to a large room with a huge table in the centre. It could almost be a ballroom. There was already a dozen or so Alphas and their mates sitting at the table. We took our seats. Damien still hasn't said anything to me. The seats were soon full. I spotted Alpha Cameron and sent him a grin. He growled lowly at me. We all watched as a middle-aged man sat at the head of the table. Everyone bowed their head to the King. Except for me. I'm still a rogue. I don't bow to anyone. I locked eyes with the King and he regarded me with curiosity. Everyone raised their heads and the meeting began.

They talked about hunters and rogues. I got a few looks but I ignored them. The Alphas around the table updated the King on pack life, changes in leadership and all that. It ran for a couple of hours. At the end the King invited everyone to mingle and just have a nice time. Damien immediately walked off to speak to another Alpha, leaving me alone. I tried to not feel hurt. I heard someone approaching me. I turned around and came face to face with the King.

"You didn't bow." He said with curiosity. I crossed my arms over my chest.

"No, I didn't." He did something that surprised me. He laughed.

"Everyone bows. Even rogues. They can't help it. Their wolves make them do it. But you didn't. Why?" He asked.

"My wolf doesn't like you." It's true. Jordan isn't a fan of him. At all. He laughed again.

"You interest me. Who did you come here with?" He asked and I pointed to Damien.

"Him. He's my mate." His eyes widened in surprise.

"And you're not marked or mated? Why?" I chuckled.

"Because I'm not. Why do you want to know?" I shot back.

"Just curious." He turned and walked away. I rolled my eyes.

"You should have more respect." I spun around and saw that it was Alpha Cameron that spoke. He looked pissed.

"Why should I?" I asked.

"Because he is the King. He is above you. Actually everyone in this room is above you. You're a rogue. Your own mate doesn't even want to mark and mate you." My eyes narrowed at him. I snapped. I let out a savage growl and tackled him to the ground. I straddled him as I punched him with everything I had. I felt his bones crack under my fists. I heard a woman scream and I was yanked off of him. From the sparks I knew it was Damien. I struggled against him as Alpha Cameron got to his feet. The look in his eyes was deadly.

"You're not worthy of being here!" He screamed at me.

"Try and kick me out! I dare you!" I screamed back. A body slid in between us. Alpha Cameron immediately bowed to the King.

"What happened?" He asked with authority.

"She shouldn't be here." Alpha Cameron spat. The King looked at me as I breathed heavily. Damien was still holding me. He turned back to Alpha Cameron.

"She has every right to be here. Go and calm down." He instructed. Alpha Cameron walked away, a woman following him closely. Must be his mate.

"Take her and calm her down too." Damien nodded and carried me out of the room. We walked into the lounge room and sat down.

"What happened?" He asked. His voice was flat.

"He said that I should show the King respect and that every one in the room is above me." My voice was deadly. I wanted to kill him.

"Is that it?"

"He said that I'm a rogue. Not even my mate wants to mark and mate me." Damien just nodded in understanding.

"Are you calm?" He asked with an eyebrow raised. Is he ignoring what Alpha Cameron said? Does he agree? I felt a stab of regret. I sighed.

"I'm going to go home." I said quietly. I got up and left the pack house. He didn't follow me. I wish he did.

I think I pushed him too far.
