NINE

ROWAN POV

I woke up to the doorbell, I look to my side and notice Elena isn't there, I go downstairs and see her and Ric about to open the door. The sheriff was standing outside. "Sheriff Forbes, hi" Elena says, "Is everything okay? I ask her. "This is an unconventional conversation we're about to have so I hope you'll protect me on it" she says to us. Elena and I nod our heads, "Of course" Ric says to her.

"I'm assuming you've heard our medical examiner was murdered the night of the fundraiser?" I shake my head having no clue, Elena too, "Yeah Brian Walters. Why?" Ric asked. "We've been investigating. Someone drove this stake through his heart" Liz says showing us the stake that looks quite familiar.

Ric grabs the bag the stake is in and has a look at it. "That's one of ours? Isn't it?" I ask, "Yeah it is" Ric confirms. "This is one of the set I have at Elena's parents lake house" he adds. "Wait what?" I ask, "I have them everywhere" Ric says, Liz looks down, "That's why I'm here" she says, "I haven't told anyone, but forensics ran it for prints and found only one clean set" she says, "Yours Elena" she says looking at Elena. "What?" she says.

Liz leaves and we go back inside, Elena calls Damon and puts him on speaker so we can all hear. "So you're the prime suspect?" he says in a cheeky tone, "She doesn't think I did it, she's trying to find out why someone used my families weapons to kill a Council member" Elena says to him.

"Well don't you ask Ric if his dirty little doctor had access to the weapon" Damon says oblivious to the fact he's on speaker. "You're on speakerphone dick" I say to him before Ric could answer. "I'm just saying first suspect is usually the right one. Don't get so defensive guys" Damon says to Ric I think.

"Brian Walters was killed days ago. I didn't show Meredith this until last night" Ric says defensively, "It wasn't Meredith" I say defending her as well as Ric, surely his luck with women isn't this bad. "Brian was her ex-boyfriend and Ric saw them fighting that night" Damon tries, "It's not Meredith okay? Ric can't have that bad of luck with women" I say slightly laughing.

"Who else knows about your slayer stash" Damon asks, "Who doesn't? I got weapons everywhere. Here, the school, my loft, your car, Rowan's house" Ric lists, "My house? Why- Oh never mind, forgot my parents are like vampire hunters" I say, "It's Klaus. It has to be. He's just screwing with us" Damon says, "It's not Klaus" I say, "What if it was Stefan" Elena says, looking at Ric and I, I nod in agreement, "Yeah. It could've been Stefan, but no go blame Klaus because everything is his fault" I rant.

Elena ignores me and goes in, "He was crazy that night. You know he was trying to get under Klaus' skin. He was capable of pretty much anything" she says, I nod in agreement. I mean he did almost drive us off a bridge, of who knows maybe he killed this council member. "Makes me nostalgic for the time when Stefan was a bunny snacking pacifist" Damon says.

I let out a laugh, I can't imagine Stefan as that type of guy, then again, I haven't known him as long as Elena and the others have. "Anyway gotta go. More later" Damon says, "Hey. Where are you?" Ric asks him, "Tea with an old friend" he says. It then hits me, "Damon I swear if you're with-" I say, but he hangs up on me. I sigh. Him and Elijah are going to plan Klaus' demise.

Caroline called me and told me to come and meet her at the hospital so she could see her dad. Yeah apparently he got attacked by Tyler in wolf form. Yeah he was helping him break the sire bond to Klaus, guess he got to close and got attacked. Meredith however was the doctor and used vampire blood to save him, gotta love vampire blood sometimes.

"Are you Caroline?" Meredith said to me, "Oh no, she is" I shake my head and point to Caroline. "Dr. Fell, hi. Elena told me you helped out my dad" she says. Meredith looks around and whispers "I did. Do you think you can get him to be a little grateful? He spent the entire night threatening to get my license revoked for saving his life" Meredith explains.
