THIRTY-SEVEN

ROWAN POV

Graduation was today. But it's not the typical type of graduation you think it would be. We're currently in a supernatural like war with the supernatural ghosts of the other side. And last night, Rebekah, Matt and I got captured by 3 hunters, which isn't good because they can kill me now and I'll be dead dead. They put Matt on a trap, and Rebekah and I are standing around. Alexander is seeing all the new weapons nowadays, "A hidden compartment filled with advanced weaponry. Man has evolved from his days of throwing stones" he says checking the weapon out.

"There is nothing we can do for you Alexander. Please let us go" Rebekah pleads, "I'm not holding you here. Although, I have a feeling that exploding contraption will have a hard time parting with you guys handsome friend intact" he says referring to Matt, "Just go guys. I'll be fine" Matt says, "We're not leaving you" I say to him, "The soldier Connor found a way to siphon venom from a werewolf. I wonder how long it'd take to kill your other friend" he says looking at me. I take a step back, where the hell is Klaus when you need him, he took the perfect time to go MIA.

"What do you want from us?" Rebekah asks again, "To fulfil my destiny" he replies, "Newsflash. Silas is gone" I tell him, he shakes his head, "The Brotherhood of hunters was created for one reason, and one reason only" he starts, "Kill Silas. Yeah we've heard this story multiple times" I butt in rolling my eyes, "She must not have many friends, but then again who would be friends with a vampire?" he says looking at me before shooting me in shoulder with the bullet that has werewolf venom on it.

The rush of the bullet made me fall back and land on my back, I groan and sit back up, "Are you okay?" Rebekah asks, I nod, "Let's just hope that since my werewolf side it won't affect me" I whisper to her and Matt so the hunters don't hear. Rebekah tries to find a way to get Matt off the contraption. "Ro I'm gonna get Matt off, then you two run" she says, I nod. "Go ahead sweet Rebekah. Use your vampire powers to whisk him away. I'm sure you can survive the blast of six automobiles, but can he? And can your friend get away before the venom in that bullet takes affect" Alexander taunts her.

I'm sat on the ground while Rebekah tells Matt of the plans they can do together. Alexander obviously gets annoyed and throws the dagger he was holding at them. Rebekah caught it but she leant back on Matt, and Matt almost lost balance, but Rebekah kept him up, I exhale. I move my top out the way to see if the bullet had any effect, and it hasn't, which I'm taking is good. "I've got you" Rebekah tells him.

My phone starts to ring, Alexander looks at me, "I'm not a hostage right? I can answer my phone?" I say annoyed, he nods and walks away. "Elena?" I say, "We need Klaus" she says, "What?" I say confused, Klaus hasn't talked to me in days. "Damon got shot with some bullet that had werewolf venom on it. We need Klaus' blood to heal him" she explains, "I'm gonna being held by hunters right now Elena. We're planning to escape, I'll see you at graduation" I tell her, she sighs, "Okay. Just stay safe" she tells me, "I will" I say hanging up the phone.

"Rowan. You and Matt run now. I'll meet you"
Rebekah says, I nod, I grab Matt and vamp speed away to graduation.

...

"Klaus it's me again. I don't know where you are, or if you're in town. But I'm calling you every 10 minutes until you get your ass here to save Damon's life" I say leaving yet another message. I walk up the group of 5 friends. "I can't believe it. We're actually all here. We are all here together" Caroline says, we all laugh, Bonnie starts to cry, "Bonnie Bennett, are you crying?" I say to her, "It's our last hurrah before you go off to college and you chase your family in New Orleans" Bonnie says looking at me.

"Before we go off to college" Caroline says, "I kinda sorta missed the deadline, you know, being an emotionless bitch" Elena says, "Perk of being a vampire. You guys can go anywhere" I tell them. "We can choose our own roommates. We could get a triple room" Caroline smiles at Elena and Bonnie. "I'm happy we're all here" Bonnie says, "Aw group hug" Caroline says. We all huddle in and group hug, these guys are like my family, I'm gonna miss them so much. "I'm gonna miss you guys" I say to them, "We'll only be a phone call away" Caroline says smiling at me.

We all make our way over to our seats and the mayor does his speech. "Welcome parents, family and friends. What a beautiful day for graduation" he says, he doesn't even know. "Thank you for joining us today on this special day as we celebrate our graduates. So let's get started" he says, the crows claps and cheers. He called out names and the student went up and got their diploma, it was Bonnie's turn now. "Not to play favourites, but I'm especially proud of this next graduate. My lovely daughter, Bonnie Bennett" he says, I clap especially loud for Bonnie.

Matt was shortly called after Bonnie, then Caroline, and then Elena. Eventually Stefan names got called out, then mine did. As I walked along the stage, I thought of everything that happened this year. I met Klaus, Rebekah, Caroline, all these amazing friends. Went on many supernatural missions, became a vampire, fell for the bad boy, meet my sister. And so much more. In a way I'm glad I moved to Mystic Falls, otherwise my life wouldn't of been this crazy and fun.

We all went behind the bleachers and I was once again trying to get to Klaus but no answer. Stefan was on the phone with Ric talking about forcing the cure down Damon's throat, before he could answer a ringing sound went through my brain and we all held our heads in pain, "Remember us, Caroline?" a voice says. It's the witches from the sacrifice. The ringing suddenly stops. "There are plenty more of these to go around" Klaus' voice says, "Who's next? I can do this all day" he says. I turn to him and smile and he smiles back at me.

I stayed back, in hopes to catch Klaus. I hear footsteps and I turn around and see him. "Where have you been? How'd you get here so fast?" I ask him, "I was out and about. I was already on my way here" he says smiling which made me smile. "I received your graduation announcement" he says pulling out the later, "Rebekah" I mumble knowing she must've given it to him. "She was very subtle" he says, I internally cringe, "What did she say?" I say waiting for the worst.

"Cash, a car, all the expensive stuff" he chuckles, I roll my eyes playfully, "I was gonna offer you a first class ticket to join me in New Orleans. But then I realised you said you're heading there after graduation" he says, I nod "Yeah Hayley and I are heading there tomorrow. Why are you going there?" I ask him, he's hesitant to tell me, "No need for you to worry. And if you need a tour, I'll be willing to provide you one" he says, I smile. He leans and kisses me, "There you go again with the random kissing" I laugh softly, "It won't be the last. Congratulations Rowan" he says softly, I laugh. "Let's get out of here before 12 angry hybrids decide to pick a fight" he adds putting his arm around my shoulder and we walk off in the moonlight. I never knew how much I needed the hybrid till it was too late.
