Noelle's POV

I woke up to the sound of the alarm on my cell phone.

Its the final day of first semester exams.
Two more years to leave this sickening environment.

I pulled the covers away and tried to get up but I couldn't.
Something was holding me back.
I felt a sharp pain in my stomach that made me cringe.

"Not today" I said half crying
I knew what it was but hated to admit it.

I looked around for my drugs and couldn't find it. I had one option left
I picked up my phone to call my sister.

"Don't you think its kinda too early" Abbey said jokingly

"Uhm.. I couldn't find my drugs"
I said quietly

"Elle are u okay?" Abbey half shouted

" yeah just slight pain that's all"

" I'm coming over " she said

" just tell me where they are, I'll be fine "
I persuaded.

" no way Elle , you almost got yourself killed the last time"

I didn't get the chance to say anything before the line went off.

I just sighed and laid back down.

I was at the school clinic staring at the clock.
Abbey had gone to the lecturer's office because I insisted on writing my exams.
My paper was brought to the clinic and I finished about an hour later.

"I hope you whooped them in the ass"
Abbey joked as she walked to my bed

"It runs in the blood " I boasted

"That's my baby girl" abbey high fived me

She's my best friend.
I have two other friends Michelle and Claire but Abbey knew me better than anyone sometimes she boasts of knowing me better than myself.

I left school the next day. I was going to pass the night at my sister's before moving home to boksburg

I was at the park very early to catch the first bus but it seemed I ran out of luck so I had to wait for the next bus.
I sat by the door so I could get enough space to stretch my leg which could swell in a matter of hours.

Mom and dad where at the park to pick me.

I stood by one of the terminals so she could locate me easily.

I ran towards my Mom as soon as I saw her.
It was already late at night which meant she couldn't recognize me fast.

" why do u look skinny?" Mom asked
I was rather embarrassed

I just smiled and pulled my mom into a hug.

"Dad must be waiting" I said dragging her behind me.

" mom I'm fine. Let's not do this now" I walked Into my room. Leaving my mom in the living room

My dad just sat there. Saying nothing. He never wanted me to do what I didn't want to, even though he knew it was for my own good. But asking my mom to leave me alone was going to cause trouble so he just remained silent.

My brother just came in from tembisa where he stays with his wife. He will be staying for 3 days. He barely has time to visit us.
He bought a lot of foodstuff and other items.
It wasn't difficult to transport them down since he was using his car.

"You need to talk to your sister" my mom said
" we could just get a doctor to come check on her everyday after the surgery " my brother suggested

" do you know how much it cost getting a personal doctor? Of course you should know better. Its your field of study "

" we could use her school fee to fund it " my brother said sarcastically

I was lying down trying to stifle the laughter but I couldn't

" I bet its funny " I mom retorted
