chapter 5

Noelle's POV

It's Saturday morning and the nurse on duty asked me to take a few steps round my bed to check if my walking posture has been affected.

I looked over my shoulder and when i figured the nurse was not watching, i walked to the door and proceeded to the corridors.

'Who said you were strong enough to walk this far?' The intern asked

I smiled before answering " the nurse said I could walk round my bed"

" this certainly is a long distance from your bed" she replied sarcastically

'Sorry I didn't get to know your name' I laughed stretching my hand towards her.

" follow me" she instructed ignoring my outstretched hand

'That hurts' I said in my usual baby voice

She smirked before answering ' I know'

It's my third day at the hospital
Mom had left earlier to get food for me and dad was at the site supervising his project so I was alone in the hospital.

I was bored and tired of sleeping.
I wasn't allowed out of the ward either so I just laid back on my bed.

I heard her voice from the corridors.

How does she cope with all this men?
I thought

" a penny for your thoughts" someone said

I turned and met her beautiful eyes that seem to sweep me of my feet anytime I look into them.

"Would they allow you come and see your patients?" I joked stressing the 'they'

She laughed before asking

'Who are they?'

' I wouldn't know since I don't work with you'

I said shrugging my shoulders

She just rolled her eyes at me.

She looks cute when she does that
I said to myself.

Where is your mom? She asked turning round.

"There' I pointed under the bed

"You're silly" she joked

"Only reason why you like me right?"
I said laughing out loud

' you wish' she said making a face

'Go away' I pouted and turned away..

A small smile was playing in the corner of her mouth.

'Why does she have to be so cute' I said under my breathe.

" you're not busy with your phone today "

It was more of a statement but I guess she wanted an answer.

'Uhm.. My sister abbey is just getting settled in law school, my friend Michelle is on a family vacation so we don't talk often. Claire calls me and Bryan is busy I guess'

When I mentioned Bryan I'm sure she felt my countenance drop.

"Well that's okay, I could baby sit you until your mom comes back since i am not busy at the moment"

She joked trying to lighten up the atmosphere.

"I'm an adult" I protested

"At 17" she teased

We talked for hours and I really enjoyed her company.
It was pass noon and she offered to help me fix tea since I was hungry.
