The Furuya Twins

28. Finally

Haruichi was casually eating his breakfast when a commotion caught his attention. The 3rd years that were coming into the cafeteria looked like they were arguing about something. When they came closer he could hear some of what they were saying. "I know! I was also there! I saw! I just can't it!" Ishashiki was almost shouting, his face a bright red.

Haruichi didn't know what they were talking about, but it seemed like something serious. Furuya was sitting next him, just focusing on finishing his bowl of rice. "Hey Furuya, do you know what they're talking about?"

Furuya slowly faced him, his cheeks puffed up with rice. "Probably about Satomi and Miyuki." Furuya replied around his rice, so it sounded more like 'pvrovaly a' out Satom and Miyu'i'. Haruichi frowned. Didn't Furuya care about his sister and Miyuki?

"Don't you care that there's a guy that's interested in Satomi?" He asked Furuya. Furuya took a moment to think. "... Lots of guys have been interested in her. But she hasn't liked any of them. She likes Miyuki, so... And also, he can catch my pitches." Haruichi couldn't help but laugh. It doesn't take a lot to convince Furuya it seemed.

"What about you Furuya? Isn't there a girl you like?"
"WHAT?! FURUYA LIKES A GIRL??!" Sawamura yelled all of a sudden, coming to sit with them at the table. The whole cafeteria become silent, they were looking at Furuya in shock. Everyone was waiting in anticipation for Furuya's reply.

Furuya just said, "One girl gave me a plushy... She's in my class, I think. I can't remember her name though." A general 'Ah man!' and 'Pshh, thought so...' went around in disappointment.

As one the cafeteria deflated, their anticipation for some good gossip gone, with one simple sentence. "What did we expect? It's Furuya after all..." Everyone continued with their own chatter. "Yeah, I can't believe a girl could like you Furuya, hahaha." Sawamura said, laughing. "It's not like there's a girl that likes you, Eijun-kun." Haruichi told him.

"THAT'S NOT TRUE! THEY ALL LIKE ME, BECAUSE I'LL BECOME THE ACE!" Sawamura protested loudly. Haruichi just shook his head. He wondered what happened between Miyuki and Satomi... Satomi is nice, so Miyuki better not try anything funny... Haruichi thought, his expression becoming dark. If he does anything... He better be ready to pay the price. "Ah, Haruichi! Why is there darkness around you?!" Sawamura exclaimed.

Meanwhile, it seemed like no one noticed that Satomi and Miyuki weren't in the cafeteria. After they got back the night before they went somewhere to talk privately, without worried 3rd years around.

*The night before*

After Miyuki said, "Because I like you, Satomi" the 3rd years had a mini freak out. Shouts and protests come from all of them. Ryosuke's face was dark when he took a step towards Miyuki, when Yuki stopped him with a hand on his shoulder.

"I think they need to talk first." Yuki said to Ryosuke, gesturing towards Miyuki and Satomi. They were still holding hands, but Satomi looked shocked, and Miyuki was trying to calm the angry mob.

Ryosuke gave a sigh. "Fine then! But Miyuki, I don't want to come look for you, right? Make sure that Satomi gets enough sleep." Isashiki also jumped in and added a, "And make sure she has dinner!" With grumbles and mutters of "I just can't believe it..." and "That Miyuki..." The 3rd years were off, leaving Satomi and Miyuki alone.

Miyuki took Satomi's hand and walked in the direction of the field. They went to sit in the dugout. They were still holding hands, and Satomi still felt confused. She had known Miyuki liked her, and she liked him too... But just blurting it out like that in front of everyone... Her cheeks cought fire again as she remembered the confident way Miyuki said he liked her, in from of everyone.

There was a moment of quiet, and then Miyuki took Satomi's other hand and pulled her closer to him. Satomi was startled out of her thoughts. As she looked at Miyuki's serious expression she couldn't help but let out a chuckle.

"Ya! Why are you laughing! This is a serious moment!" Miyuki said, his face becoming bright red. "Ah, I'm sorry Kazuya. I just can't believe you said that in front of everyone!" Miyuki dragged a hand through his hair, his ckeeks still pink. He looked back at Satomi. "I just couldn't take it anymore. They're all so nosy! They always have something to say when we do something together..." His works trailed off when he saw the soft look on Satomi's face.

Satomi's heart felt so warm and full just hearing Miyuki say that. She knew that had been bothering him, because she knew his intentions were pure. Satomi was still looking into Miyuki eyes, when she told him with a soft smile, "I like you too, Kazuya..."

Miyuki froze. Satomi's confession had surprised him. But what surprised him even more, was when he saw she was coming closer. Satomi gave him a soft, lingering kiss in his cheek. By now, both of their faces were on fire.

Satomi didn't move away, and they were still looking into each other's eyes. Miyuki's eyes drifted towards her lips. They look so soft... Miyuki thought as he moved closer. Their lips were almost touching when Miyuki cupped Satomi's face and pulled her that last bit closer... Then their lips touched, softly.

Miyuki pulled his hand back, still staring into Satomi's eyes. Satomi looked into Miyuki's eyes as she touched her lips. Her eyes went to his lips, and back to his eyes. Satomi closed the distance and let her lips caress Miyuki's softly,  quickly hiding her head in his neck when she was done.

They sat like that for a while, arms around each other. "We should head back right?" Miyuki asked. "Just a little while longer." Satomi replied, snuggling closer. Miyuki gave a chuckle. He pulled Satomi closer and gave a quick kiss on her nose. "Fine, a little longer. But you know you're my girlfriend now, right?"

Satomi gave a snort. "When did you ask me to be your girlfriend?" Miyuki laughed. "Okay, okay. Satomi, will you please be my girlfriend? I'll make sure I cherish you..." Miyuki mumbled as he looked away, waiting for Satomi's answer. "I will be your girlfriend Kazuya... As long as you always do your best, okay?" She said this in a cute way, scrunching her nose.

Just as Miyuki wanted to reply Satomi quickly went and gave him a fast kiss on his lips. His already red cheeks became more red. Satomi got up, but Miyuki pulled her back down, onto his lap, where he took her face gently in his hands.

As he looked at her face, he slowly moved closer, and sofly kissed her again. Satomi kissed Miyuki back, her hands going around his shoulders. Miyuki put his mouth near Satomi's ear and whispered to her, "Now you're finally my girlfriend."
