Kat POV
I start to play with my jumper and I see a girl with curly hair. She looked like someone in Mamas yearbook. She gives me a small smile and waves, I wave at her and she makes a 'come over here' motion and I walk over to her. "I'm Mae," She says and holds out her hand, I back away slightly and she frowns putting her down. "What's your name?" She asks and I smile,
"Katherine. I'm named after my mommy's friend." I say and Mae smiles,
"That's my mamas name too!" She exclaims and I smile,
"That's cool!" I exclaim and she nods,
"Wanna draw with me?" She asks and I shrug,
"I-I guess." I say and she smiles, I sit down next to her and she hands me a piece of paper and I smile starting to draw with her.
After school
I grab my bag and I look at Mae. "Bye Mae," I say and she smiles,
"Bye Kitty. Oh and I'm officially declaring you my best friend!" She exclaims,
"What does declaring mean?" I ask
"It means to announce something... I think anyway." She says and I nod,
"Okie dokie! You're my best friend too!" I say and she smiles, I turn my head to see Mommy waiting for me. "I gotta go! That's my mommy!" I exclaim and Mae smiles and runs towards a girl that looks just like the girl in Mommys yearbook.
"Bye Kat!" Mae shouts and I wave jumping into Mommy's arms.
"Hi baby girl!" Mommy exclaims and I smile,
"Hi Mommy." I say,
"Did you make any friends?" She asks and I nod,
"I made one! And, her name's Mae Parr-"
"Parr?" Mommy asks and I nod, she immediately starts looking mad and I start feeling scared.
"Don't be mad Mommy. I'm sorry, I don't know what I did-" she kisses my head,
"You didn't do anything, you have absolutely nothing to be sorry about. I'm just feeling a little mad at someone else." She says and I nod my head, Anne runs out and I smile.
"Mommy!" Anne exclaims and I look at her,
"What?" Mommy asks excitedly,
"Me and Millie are in the same class!" She says excitedly and Mommy smiles.
"That's awesome Buba!" She exclaims and sets me down. "Now why don't we go home and we'll make you two some dinner." She says and I nod holding Mamas hand.
Cathy POV
"Her name's Katherine Seymour and she's really nice!" Mae exclaims and I nod, I knew Jane wasn't gonna be that happy with Mae and Katherine being friends. She hates me and all I want to do is talk to her and try to make her see that I didn't cheat on her at all. "Is Nana coming over today?" Mae asks and I nod,
"Yep!" I say and Mae squeals, she loves my mom.
"We get to make pizza!" Mae exclaims and I nod.
An hour later
I watch as Mae starts to draw and I sigh running my fingers through my hair. "What's wrong Cathy?" Mom asks and I shake my head,
"Nothing." I mumble and she starts rubbing my back,
"Look I know you don't like to talk but please tell me what's wrong." She says and I look at her,
"You remember Jane?" I ask and Mom nods,
"How could I forget her," she says and I smile.
"I saw her today and she's still pissed with me for something I didn't do. And, now Mae and her daughter Katherine are friends and I'm just nervous about Jane hating me forever." I say and Mom frowns,
"Try talking to her-"
"I have-"
"Ten years ago. Maybe see if she would be willing to meet up with you at the coffee shop of something." She says and I shake my head,
"She's gonna say no-"
"You don't know that." Mom says and Mae runs over holding up a picture,
"I made this for you!" She exclaims and I smile looking at the picture,
"Is that me and you at the park?" I ask and she nods, "aw, thank you bug. Why don't you go hang it up on the fridge?" I ask and she nods running away to the fridge. "I guess I'll do it," I say and Mom smiles.
"Good," she whispers.

Random Fact: I was crying tears of joy yesterday because AFTER MONTHS AND MONTHS OF SEARCHING I finally found a be more chill bootleg with Millie in it. I WAS SERIOUSLY CRYINGGGG!
