We climbed into the limo quietly, man this male must have a ton of money. I sighed, sitting down and closing my eyes. Things were changing in ways I didn’t understand.

My male and I were different. Why were we different? What was I? Why did I turn into that massive creature? Why was Jaxton doing the same thing?

Jaxton pulled me into his side, his brows pulled down in worry. I wanted to reassure him that everything would be okay, but what if it was all lies? I rested my head on his shoulder, placing my hand on his stomach and trying to focus on the feel of him against me.

“Are you okay Jax?” I asked quietly, memories of his new form flashed in front of my eyes.

“Yeah,” Jaxton leaned down and kissed the top of my head. “Hey, did you have to go through all that pain alone? Or did it only hurt for me?”

“Um…” Should I tell him that it lasted longer for me and was probably worse… Or should I lie? “It hurt, but once I was fully shifted I was okay.”

“I’m sorry I wasn’t there for you buttercup.” Jaxton started to pull away from me. Punishing himself for not being there by taking himself away from me.

“No, don’t go,” I pressed myself against him, we ended up lying down on the long seat of the limo. Jaxton twisted so he was lying down on his back, his hands on his chest trying to push my body off of his.

Jaxton let out a laugh and pulled me down onto his chest. My heart felt so full. I had just been angry at him for lying to me and now I’m on top of him. I felt warm and safe, damn it. I’m so in love with him.

“What do you want to do with your life?” I asked quietly, “Like if your life wasn’t so complicated what would you want to do?”

“Well, I was telling you the truth about what I had wanted to do.” Jaxton’s hand came up to start rubbing my back. “I wanted to be a chef when I was younger, but they wanted me to do something different. I owed my life to them, and they also told me becoming one of them would help wolves.”

“So you became an assassin to help wolves?” I giggled at him.

“Well, yeah,” Jaxton laughed. “I kill the bad guys, and they give me a lot of money for doing it so that’s a bonus.”

“Have you ever thought about stopping? You could leave and fulfill your dream of becoming a chef. Get away from all the killing and just do the thing that will make you happy.” I pulled away so I could look him in the eyes.

“I hopefully will be doing something that makes me happy very soon.” Jaxton gave me a naughty grin and looked me up and down slowly.

“I lov-” I cut myself off. It just started to slip out, oh god. Jaxton’s eyes widened, he sat up slowly positioning me so I was straddling his thighs and facing him.

“D-do you mean that?” Jaxton asked slowly. I swear he could hear my heart pounding in my chest.

“No, no…” I crossed my arms in front of my chest defensively. Jaxton’s face fell, the nervous excitement disappearing. “I didn’t mean to say that, you just looked so cute and you were being funny and being yourself.”

Jaxton’s large hand cupped the back of my neck and pulled me closer till my lips were almost touching his. I shivered in nervous excitement, I waited for him to kiss me, for his soft warm lips to press against mine, but it didn't come.

“You get a kiss…” Jaxton said with a small smile. “If you finish what you were saying.”

“I…” I pulled back from him, wanting to see his face when I finally said it. “I love you Jaxton Myles Thatcher. I’m proud to be yours.”

“I love you too Adalyn Faye Mason. I’m proud to be yours.” Jaxton had a smile on his face and I quickly leaned forward a matching smile stretching my face.

Our lips met softly. The feel of his warm, soft lips on mine was amazing. I tilted my head, my arms coming around to wrap around his back. He bit my lip softly and I let out a low moan. Soft, slow kisses are the best.

Jaxton pulled away slowly and I let out a noise of protest, trying to lean forward so our lips would meet again. Jaxton huffed out a laugh before his lips met mine, giving into to me. I hummed happily and pulled away, using his shoulder as a pillow.

“Do you think I’m a bad wolf?” Jaxton asked quietly, looking away from me. Wow this male was hot and cold what’s happening right now.

“No, of course not, why would I think that?” I sat up and looked into his eyes.

“I have killed so many wolves and people. I liked it too. I felt like I was finally doing something to help and not just doing nothing. With you though I don’t want to kill anyone. I just want to be with you.

You make me wanna be something else, you make me remember what my dreams were. I don’t want you to hate me for the things I did and probably will have to do again…”

“Jaxton… My handsome wolf. I tore apart my ex with glee. If you guys hadn’t killed Lola I would’ve. If we had been mated when that girl was in the cave I would have at least made sure she left with some gnarly scars.”
I nuzzled into his neck, his beard scraping against the side of my face. Jaxton let out a small soft sound, causing me to shudder against him. I want to hear that sound every freaking day.

Jaxton kissed my cheek and relaxed into the seat, closing his eyes. He is so damn handsome. How did I get someone like him?

“Goodnight handsome.” I settled against him and let myself drift off to sleep.

I felt movement and the warm that had been surrounding me disappeared. I cracked my eyes open, before curling up and falling happily back to sleep.

The warmth returned and I wiggled myself towards it. Humming happily when a large hand lifted my head up onto a comfy pillow. So warm.

“Hello little one.” Jaxton started playing with my hair. “It’s seven right now would you like some breakfast? We are at a Dunkins right now if you’d like to go to the bathroom. I already went.”

“Hmm okay.” I got up slowly, stretching my limbs and cracking my neck once I was out of the limo.

“Want me to grab you breakfast while you go to the bathroom?” Jaxton asked following me out of the car.

“Yes please.” I looked up at the handsome male. “Can I have a small frozen mocha and a cream cheese bagel toasted?”

“Of course,” We walked into the building and I headed to the two-stall bathroom while Jaxton went to stand in line.

I stepped into the second stall, the only open one. I quickly did my business and stepped out. Glancing at the girl beside me before looking into the mirror.

I cringed looking at my very messy hair and started running my fingers through it. Once I got it reasonably tamed I straightened out the shirt I borrowed from Jaxton. I bent down and fixed my jeans that had twisted.

I screamed in pain when I felt something slam into my back. Bones cracked and I tumbled to the floor. I turned and saw the woman that had been standing at the other sink grinning down at me.

She started walking towards me and I pushed myself back into the wall. I wanted to shift my eyes, the wolf in me struggling to get out. This bitch needs to die.

She wouldn’t meet my eyeline… like she knew what I had done to Matthias and Lola… She was holding a large knife that gleamed with something sticky.

I took a sniff of the air… wolfsbane. I bared my teeth and snarled. The bathroom door swung open with a bang and my eyes darted towards it.

This one is a bit short but I'm dealing with a 8 week old rough Collie. His name is Oatmeal Raisin Cookie. Love him.
