Chameleon means "earth lion" in Greek

senses

it was impossible to sneak up on espio 

it was as if he had a pair of eyes at the back of his head 

many of his friends had intentionally tried to surprise the chameleon in the past, hoping to get a startled reaction out of him 

but every single attempt failed as the ninja called them out or even threw a shuriken terrifyingly close to their face (but that was only if he was in a bad mood) 

but there were those more perseverant then others 

one day whilst espio was meditating peacefully 

probably less then half of his friends were planning an attack 

"I know it's stupid, but I really want to see the look on his face when we finally surprise him" vector explained, laughing sheepishly to the group who were there for the same reason as their speaking leader 

"it may be stupid, but it's the good type of stupid" sonic laughed 

they had been planning this for some time now 

each member having a part to play for their success

"we all got a camera?" Amy asked 

all members nodded, if this plan was to succeed, then they wanted a picture of proof of their victory 

making sure they were all in agreement with their roles in the plan 

they headed out 

 espio leaned against the trees trunk of one of the trees in the big lush forest  

emerald green leaves glided gracefully to the ground as a running stream rushed it's way in the bank 

espio released a large sigh of relief 

it had been a while since he finally got some peace to do some meditation

due to the latest eggman fiasco he and his team, the chaotixs were tasked in both defending innocent mobians from the evil mans robots but also the amount of clients they were getting due to missing individuals, crimes during the attack and so on 

yes it was great for the agency, along with keeping his skills sharp 

but he was extremally grateful for this time to finally relax 

or that was what he had wanted to do 

"what are they all doing?" espio asked himself, squinting his eyes every now and then 

he could sense his friends, he guessed they were trying to sneak up on him...AGAIN 

he honestly didn't know why they were so determined to "scare" him 

but he did know where his friends were placed 

vector and Amy were to his right 

tails and knuckles were to his left 

sonic was to his back 

and charmy was just above him 

espio wondered what they were thinking 

vector instructed everyone with such clear instructions even charmy could follow them 

Amy and himself were to cause some rustling on the right to stir the chameleon 

once he was aware knuckles and tails would then create another set of rustling to the left to confuse him and alert

charmy would make noises from above to make espio look up to see charmy, thinking it was charmy all along
