Chapter 29

The first thing I saw when I opened my eyes was Kendall who is seating on my side while holding my hand.

I tried to move my head sideways which made me feel nauseous. My other hand automatically reach for my temple as I try to adjust at the blinding light coming from the bulb.

My eyesight was still distorted after a few blinks. I started to roam my eyes around but all I can see is white.

I cleared my throat, I felt it dry. Tinignan ko ang aking kamay at nakitang may nakatusok doon na kung ano. Sinundan ko ng tingin ang maliit na tube na iyon.

My forehead furrowed when I saw a dextrose. Then my eyes went to my clothes. I am wearing a blue dress, a hospital gown to be exact.

I felt Kendall moved.

"Oh my! You're awake?" Kahit na bagong gising lamang ay mahahalata mo ang pagkataranta sa boses ni Kendall.

Nanlaki ang mata niya habang tinitignan ako.

"I'll call the doctor!" She stand up but I held her wrist.

Doctor? I am really in a hospital right now? What am I even doing her? Ang huli ko lamang na naaalala ay ang papaalis na katawan ni Jordan habang buhat-buhat ang dinudugong si Jane palabas ng ice cream parlor.

Then the next thing I could still remember is feeling a but disoriented before everything went to black.

Did I lose consciousness?

"I'm f-fine." I said huskily.

Binuhat ko ang aking sariling katawan at umupo sa hospital bed. Isinandal ko ang aking ulo sa bed rest noon habang si Kendall naman ay mayroong kung anong pinihit sa baba ng kama kaya umangat ito.

"A-are you feeling o-okay?" I heard her stutter while looking at my body. Her stares lasted for a few seconds at my tummy.

"Nahihilo lang, a-ano ba ang n-nangyari?" I asked.

Her mouth opened. "You don't r-remember?" Umiling ako. "H-hinimatay ka kahapon then someone helped me to bring you here. H-hindi mo talaga naaalala?"

"If you meant what happened with Jane, Yes, I do remember that one."

Saglit na tumayo si Kendall at mayroong pinindot na button sa itaas ng kama ko, muli din naman siyang bumalik sa pagkakaupo matapos non.

"Did you call someone?" I asked.

Panigurado ako na kung tinawagan niya ang mga magulang ko at pinsan ko ay paniguradong puno na kami ngayon sa loob ng kwarto na ito.

"N-no. I panicked, hindi ko alam kung gusto mo ba silang papuntahin dito." Umiling siya.

Tumango ako. Okay na din iyon kaysa mag-alala pa sina Mommy at Daddy sa akin.

"Are you sure that you don't remember anything else?"

"Huh? Ano ba 'yon Kendall? I don't remember anything else besides the fact that I got unconscious."

"Uhm... you were bleeding, Reign. I-I saw blood coming d-down from your legs. Y-you don't remember? H-hindi mo ba naramdaman?" She bit her lips while her forefinger is on her chin.

I got confused with what she said.

What blood? Blood down to my legs?

She must've mistaken! Siguro naman ay mararamdaman ko na dinudugo ako hindi ba? At bakit naman ako du-duguin?

Even before I could say anything else a loud knock from the door erupted us. I saw a doctor coming in with a nurse in his back.

"Hello, Ms. Vasquez." The doctor greeted me.
