Kate's P.O.V

"Ethan! You didn't need to do that. I don't want any of your favours." I said.

"Kate, why are you being so difficult? This isn't any favour. You are my wife. I am helping you." He came closer to me.

"Don't you hate me?" I asked him softly.

"No I don't." He said looking into my eyes. I was searching for emotions on his face but his face was void of emotions.

"I'm sorry I overreacted." I rubbed my forehead.

"It's okay. Lets eat."

"Yes please. I am hungry."

I moved towards the door but Ethan called me.

"Kate." He said with no emotion on his face again.

"Yes?" I smiled.

"Just because I don't hate you doesn't mean something can happen between us. I don't do love. Don't expect anything from me."

I don't know why this broke my heart. Actually I shouldn't feel like this as he made it clear on the day of marriage itself. But I don't know why I didn't like what he said. Maybe because when he helped me I started to have little hope that we could be something. I can't say all this to him so I said what my mind said me to say.

"I won't Ethan." And I left the room.

Ethan's P.O.V

I know I will hurt her as many times I say this but I cannot help it. I have to make it clear with her. I don't want her to fall in love with me because I know I can't provide her love. After HER  I just don't believe in love. There's nothing like love.

I went to kitchen where Kate was already heating up the food.

"Need help?" I asked.

"No. I'm just heating up. Shyla already cooked."

"Ohkay."

We sat at the table and she placed the plates before us.

"Wow, chicken fried rice. My favourite." I said.

She didn't say anything which is weird considering she always has some counter statement ready.

"So this Austin guy from your work, does he have girlfriend?" I was just curious.

"What?! Why would you care? Oh I got it. You are still doubting on me. Its really ridiculous Ethan." Kate yelled at me. She was correct but..... I just couldn't stop myself.

"Its not like that. I just asked okay? No need to get so hyper." I snapped to cover my lie.

"Oh really, please I know you that much. You are still doubting on me."

"Kate leave it." I yelled at her but regretted the moment I saw hurt on her face.

"You know what why don't you go back to arrogant rude Ethan so that I could hate you with all my heart?" She said.

I just threw the spoon away and left to my room. Whenever we are together we only fight. Its better we live apart.

Kate's P.O.V

It's been a week since that incident and Ethan and I were back on our ignoring track. Sometimes I thought it is good we don't talk with each other or else we will start yelling and shouting. But sometimes I feel why can't we be a normal couple in love? Why does he have to say that he doesn't do love? Is it so difficult to love me? I mean my parents didn't love me. When I see Avery and her boyfriend Adam I feel jealous. Ofcourse I am very happy for both of them but why can't I get that happiness? Happiness of being loved, being cared, being protected.....

I was so engrossed in my sad thoughts that when Ethan called me I didn't hear.

"Kate!" He screamed.

"Huh? Yeah!" I got up.

"What were you thinking?"

I blinked away my tears, "Nothing that concerns you."

"Fine. Didn't you prepare dinner today?"

"Ohh. I am so sorry. I-I just forgot. I will make it right away." How can I blank so much?

Since first day of marriage I used to cook, Shyla was there but I would tell her other work so that I could cook. Ethan also didn't mind.

"It's okay. Will go out." Said Ethan.

"What? Really?" I asked surprised.

"Yes. Why is that so surprising?"

"Because I thought you will probably yell at me, that how can I forget? This and that!"

"I'm hungry. Aren't you? Get ready fast."

"Okay okay, Mr. Robinson." I ran to my bedroom to get ready.
