Recap: Catherine forces y/n and spencer to dismiss their team. Cat currently has them at gunpoint. She claims she did all of this for y/n.
TW: Mentions of past abuse, killing
"Okay they're gone Cat." You held your hands up. "Give her the gun Spence." You looked at him. He knew he had too.
Cat held out her hand, palm up, motioning a 'give me' with her fingers. He laid it into her palm. She put it down next to her, watching Spencer as he sat.
"Explain Catherine. I did what you asked. What do you mean you did this for me. I never asked you to kill for me. Not once." Your voice shaking.
"Whats my victimology." She said sounding bored.
"You kill men for money. You cross racial lines. Age doesn't seem to matter to you. Most of them married, some recently divorced. Some with children." Spencer spoke for you.
"How many do you have on me as of right now." Again, sounding bored.
"16 men." You shuddered.
"Ugh come on y/n. You know that's not right." She rolled her eyes, groaning.
"So we missed some." You said more to yourself.
Cat clapped her hands at you. "Two to be exact"
"Who are they Cat. You've explained nothing." You pressed.
Her eyes leaving yours for a split second. It looked like she was trying to find the right words.
"The night you came to my house after your father tried to sexually abuse you, I swore he would never hurt you again. I swore to myself I would protect you." She stuck her tongue to her back teeth, looking down. She shook her head.
"I swore he'd never find you. I tried everything. I tried to protect you." She sounded... sad.
"And you know that I appreciate that Catherine. I've told you I am forever in debt to you for that. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have been able to get out of that house. So why ki-" That was when the realization hit you.
"Cat. Did you kill my father?" You spoke slowly. You didn't want to believe her. As much as you hated your father, you never once said for her to kill him
She brought her eyes to meet yours. She showed no remorse. Most woman killers did. But not her. She truly was a narcissist.
"We have a winner." She smiled. Flashing her stark white teeth at you. "They say I did something bad but, fuck, it felt so good. I don't regret it one bit. He had it coming. He was fucking scum y/n. He hurt you."
"I never asked you to kill him for me. I left. I handled it. I filed the restraining orders. I fought to keep him away from me. Its been years and never have they tried to contact me. I didn't ask you to kill for me." Why the fuck was this happening.
"You didn't have too. He did try to contact you. They both did. I intercepted it. You were in college; finally fucking happy. Finally, free. I wasn't letting them ruin that." Again sounding sad.
"I tried to hire someone to do my dirty work, but it didn't feel right."
"Because it wasn't right Cat. You knew that. You also knew what I was studying. What the fuck cat." You voice laced with poison. You wished you would dissolve. You felt Spencers hand rest on your leg. Slowly and steadily rising up. You knew what he was feeling for. Your gun.
"But it was. You fucking know he would never stop. Once I killed him, I couldn't stop. It felt good. I felt powerful. I freed you from his chains. Your mother too. But then she got in the way. So I killed her too." She wasn't lying. A wicked smirk spreading across her face.
"She didn't do anything Cat. Why would you do that. Youre no better than them." You lip trembling. You tried your hardest to stop the tears. You felt Spencers hand reach your gun. His expression blank.
"She didn't stop it. She let it happen. She was no better than he was."
"Cat..." you couldn't say anything before Spencer pulled your gun out of your leg holster. Standing up pulling you behind him.
"It's over Cat." He said cocking the gun. "You know you aren't getting out of this alive if you try anything."
"Oh Spencie. You wouldn't shoot your girlfriends best friend, would you?" The nickname making your blood boil.
"I'll do anything to protect her. Try me Cat. I'll kill you and sleep well. Try it." His voice steady and possessive.
"Like I was. But yet im the one in the wrong. I see." She looked directly at you. "You betrayed me, y/n. You better watch your backs." She was cold. Her eyes flicked to Spencers. "Both of you."
She threw the gun on the floor. Putting her hands up. Surrendering. Spencer kicked the gun away from her. Putting handcuffs around her wrist.
Morgan came back in and led Cat outside.
She turned around as Morgan was leading her out. "Just remember I did all of this for you. I loved you. If anything happens, its on your shoulders now." Her voice shaking, her eyes glassy. A look of betrayal written all over her face.
"Good-bye Catherine." Was all you could get out. Tears in your eyes.
"That's enough. Lets go" Morgans voice rang out.
When she was out of view, you fell to your knees. The events of the night hitting you like a ton of bricks. You sobbed loudly. Spencer bent down and held you. Rubbing your hair with his hands.
He moved his hands to cup your face, forcing you to look at him. "You did so well, baby. I know this is hard but you did so good. I am so proud of you." His thumb wiping your tears away.
"Why do I feel so guilty." You sobbed. Looking at him with pleading eyes.
Spencer wanted to take your pain away. He would do anything.
"Because she was your best friend." He leaned in to kiss you. His kiss soft, passionate.
"Lets go home." He said picking you up.
Walking out of the restaurant, you watched them put Cat in the back of the police truck. Spencer rushed to move you away from the sight. You turned you head as you passed. Her eyes catching yours. You mouthed an 'im sorry' to her, feeling like that would make everything better. As if it would erase her heinous crimes. She nodded whispering an 'I know' back to you. Your heart falling into your stomach as you turned your head to Spencer.
You're all I have left.
"No im not. You have the entire team. We will never leave you. I will never leave you." His words sincere, full of emotion.
He opened the door and you hopped inside. He walked around the Jeep, putting the key in the ignition but not turning it. He let out a long sigh, rubbing his hands over his face.
"What if we didn't pretend anymore" he said suddenly.
You furrowed your brows at him, confused.
"What if our relationship didn't end here."
"What are you asking me" You werent stupid. You knew what he was saying, but you needed to hear it. Loud and clear.
"Be mine. Only mine. Be my girlfriend. My forever. Please." His voice getting quieter and quieter as he spoke.
