ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ 7

AFTER THE CAST'S CHOREOGRAPHY rehearsals, they began to continue shooting episode one. skylar was currently behind the camera monitors alongside kenny. madison was sitting in the piano about to film wake up

"and action" kenny calls out. as soon as madison begins to play the piano the music producer starts the soundtrack in the back

"here's one thing
i want you to know
you got some place to go
life's a test, yes but you go toe-to-toe
you don't give up, no you grow

and you use your pain,

though i wish i could hold you through it
i know it's not the same" madison sings. towards the end she lifted her head to look up at the roof, tears brimming in her eyes

you got living to do
and i just want you to do it" it was at the moment skylar had to walk away, tears slowly rolling down her cheeks

she took a seat outside 'julie's front porch', her head in her hands. she heard someone walking towards her so she quickly lifts her head up and wipes her tears. as the figure kneels in front of her she notices it was charlie

"hey, you okay?" charlie questions with a sad smile

"y-yeah, yeah" she said sadly with a forced smile

he took noticed of the forced smile, he also took noticed of the slight crack in her voice. he grabbed her hand, intertwined it with his. "i know we've only know each other for a few weeks, but i want you to know you that you can always talk to me"

skylar felt more tears brimming in her eyes, she slowly nods. charlie noticed she wasn't ready to talk, so he was about to let go of her hand and stand up, but she held on. "t-the song" she whispers as charlie furrows his brows

"and you use your pain,

and i just want you to do it" she repeats "i-it just made me think of my guardian angel" she whispers as she looks up at the sky "my dad" she says with a few tears rolling down her cheeks

"sky, i'm so sorry" charlie whispers as he gives her hand a small squeeze as a condolence, he goes to sit next to her, placing his hand around her shoulder, skylar placing her head on his shoulder

"you know now that i think about it, i realize that i relate to julie" she says "when i was two years old, my dad told me that i started singing. he realized that i had an 'angelic voice' as he described it. so when i turned six, i started taking singing lessons and i decided at that age that i wanted to make a career out of it. my dad, he always supported me and encouraged me"

she paused "so when he passed away, it just hurt me to sing. so i gave it up and moved onto acting. there were a few scenes in girl meets world where i had to sing, it took a lot for me to do it. a year later, i meet booboo. he tried to helped me through my pain. it was working, until, i went home one night and found old family videos. i watched them and there was a clip of my dad and i, we were singing and towards the end he said 'i can't wait to see you sing on stage one day'" she took a pause, gulping the lump in her throat

"i cried for hours. it made me realize that he won't ever get to see me" she tried blinking the tears away, but she failed. "after that night, i closed myself, i pushed booboo away. we hadn't seen each other nor talked to one another since. well, until kenny called and offered this job"

as charlie processed everything he was told, he immediately felt guilt inside him. "sky, i'm so sorry for making you sing that ni—

she immediately cut him off. "charlie. you didn't force me to do it. at the end of the day, i chose to do it. and i'm glad i did. that night, when i got home...i realized just how much i missed singing. and i called my sister and i told her. she told me 'dad would've been so proud of you.' and in that moment it made me want to pick up where i left off. and i have you to thank for that" she smiles softly as she raises her head up from charlie's shoulder

their faces were inches apart as charlie lowered his head down to her. "you're gonna make me cry" he whispers as he chuckles sadly as he leans his forehead on hers for a quick second before picking up "this is for sure something that i will be forever proud of. i'm really happy i could
help you sky" he says as he kisses her temple

"hey guys?" sarah, the third a.d, questions as she walks towards them. noticing their faces, she realized she interrupted something. "i'm sorry for the interruption, but charlie, you're needed on set"

charlie nodded his head "on my way" he replied as sarah nodded and left. he was the first to stand up, extending his hand for skylar to take

she wrapped his hand around his, and he pulled her up. "thank you for hearing me out" she said as she looked at their hands that were still intertwined

"like i said, you can always talk to me" he smiles as he hugs her "we should go before kenny comes"

skylar chuckles lowly "lead the way" she smiles softly. skylar was back right next to kenny. she watched madison reshoot her scene again. this time it was even more beautiful as the sun was setting as madison continued to sing, giving skylar ghost bumps as reggie calls it with her beautiful voice
