SKYLAR WAS BACK IN SAN FRANCISCO. she left without telling anyone, except for kenny and booboo. the day the cast and crew rehearsed edge of great, they finished filming the rest of episode seven. skylar eventually had tears in her eyes as she sees booboo, charlie, owen, and jeremy film their scene discussing about the guys unfinished business; playing the orpheum. the next few days consisted of filming madison and charlie, sacha and madison in the high school, and last but not least filming perfect harmony. before skylar left, the last scene they blocked and filmed was of owen and booboo inside the orpheum

before she left, booboo tried convincing the girl to tell charlie at least that she was leaving, but she didn't budge. she even told him not to tell him why she left

as skylar arrived in san francisco she headed home, leaving her belongings in her room, grabbing her car keys, picked up some flowers at her nearest flower shop, and heading to the one place she finds a sense of peace. the cemetery, where mark cameron is buried

she ran her hand along the matte black heart shaped tombstone. it read

𝑚𝑎𝑟𝑘 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑡𝑡
𝑐𝑎𝑚𝑒𝑟𝑜𝑛
𝑛𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟 9, 1972
𝑛𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟 9, 2012

a picture of mark just above his name. on the back it was a family portrait, under it, it read

"𝑔𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑣𝑖𝑒𝑣𝑒, 𝑑𝑎𝑛𝑖𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑎, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑠𝑘𝑦𝑙𝑎𝑟
𝑚𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑚𝑒 ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑖𝑒𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑛 𝑎𝑛𝑦𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑖'𝑣𝑒 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤𝑛.
𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑖𝑓 𝑖 𝑐𝑎𝑛 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑎 𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑡 𝑖𝑛 𝑚𝑎𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚 ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑦.
𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡'𝑠 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑖 𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑑𝑜 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝑚𝑦 𝑙𝑖𝑓𝑒.
𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦'𝑟𝑒 𝑚𝑦 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔"
- 𝑚𝑎𝑟𝑘 𝑐𝑎𝑚𝑒𝑟𝑜𝑛

mark's best friend, derek, suggested the family write those words behind mark's tombstone. derek said those were mark's exact words to him as mark woke up and believed he had a second chance of living. skylar took a seat right in front of the tombstone, she placed her bouquet of roses in the vase that held water

"happy birthday daddy" she whispered sadly as she feels tears well up in her eyes "i miss you"

she stayed quiet for a few seconds before pour her heart out "i don't know if you could hear me dad. but it's been seven years without you" she said as her voice cracked "i can't handle this. i honestly don't know how i've gone through these years without you by my side" she let out a small sob "mom says that you'll always be with me, that you'll always be watching over me. that you love me like no other, that i was the best thing to ever happen to you...and i hate that i'm slowly forgetting your contagious laugh"

"i'm so sorry, i know you wanted me to continue singing. and i failed you. it just got so hard without you here. every time i'd sing i would feel a lump in my throat. i'd miss your huge smile, your laugh echoing through the room, i'd miss the hugs you'd give me as soon as i'd put the microphone down. gosh, i miss you..."

"why can't you just come pick me up and hold me in your arms and just tell me everything's gonna be okay, and that i'm gonna get through it. i wish i could hear you say how proud you are of me. i wish we could sing together like old times. i just wish you were here" skylar said, slowly running her fingers along the photo of her father, tears running down her cheeks

"he will always be proud of you" a voice calls out, startling skylar. she turns around to find her mom with tears in her eyes

skylar couldn't help but break down in tears, "life isn't fair! dad didn't deserve this! all he did in life was help people! he was the best surgeon! he didn't deserve this" she said as a small sob escaped her mouth

genevieve quickly kneeled by her daughter and brought her into her arms. "i know sweetie, i know" genevieve said as she ran her hand though her daughters hair

"w-why? why? he was p-perfectly fine when dani and i went down to the cafeteria with you" skylar cried at the thought of her last encounter with her father

"with the accident your dad was in a coma. he was a terminal ill patient, he had a final surge of energy, making him wake up. he got better before he got worse" genevieve explained once more as a few tears fell from her eyes as she held her crying daughter

"your dad knew that, that's exactly why he sent us down to the cafeteria. he had a epiphany, he asked the doctor to film those videos for us so he can tell us what really mattered in his life, which is us three. he then asked for us, but once we got there...it was too late baby" genevieve said as she swallowed the lump in her throat as skylar continued to shed tears

"we literally watched him die mom! you and dani were sitting right next to his hospital bed as i was laying on the bed hugging him!" skylar said as she was completely tired of hurting "next thing you know we hear him flatline" skylar explain as she picks herself up from her mothers grasp and leans on her fathers tombstone

"and you let out the biggest cry i've ever heard" genevieve whispers sadly, her heart crushing as she recalls her daughters cry when they heard mark's heart flatline

truth is, skylar was always a daddy's girl. she was always with him 24/7. daniella was more of a mommy's girl, her fathers death hit her as well, but not as hard as it hit skylar. after mark's burial, skylar hardly ate, she hardly spoke, she destroyed her room in anger, she cried herself to sleep for a whole two years, therapy wasn't working, the pills they prescribed for her depression never worked. skylar was like a shell of emptiness
