Chapter 6: Bondita Clashes With Anirudh

It was already morning. Bondita did all her chores and got ready for the court early. Indeed today was the first hearing of their case. All way dressed in her attorney uniform she went to the house mandir to take the blessings of Goddess Durga. Trilochan Kaka had just finished his morning prayer service.

"Kaka Sasur Ji, give me the blessings that today I will make the sinister pay for his deeds and bring my victim to justice." - Bondita

"Give me blessings too Kaka, that I may not let my client be accused for something which he has not done." - said Anirudh confidently looking at Bondita.

The couple took Kaka's blessings.

"I don't know what should I say, do you both really have to fight against eachother for some unfamiliar people?" - Kaka Sasur Ji

"It was inevitable Kaka!" - Anirudh

"Yes, as a barrister we have been taught to uncover the truth so what if we have to go against our people." - uttered Bondita looking at Anirudh

"I could only say that this court thing would go smoothly and the truth may win." - usaid concerned Trilochan Kaka

"Yes indeed!" - uttered Bondita and left.

"I think Bondita is still upset of yesterday's incident. She seem brave and confident as I always wished her to be but I don't know what this court thing might bring into our lives." - said Anirudh to himself

"Anirudh listen, I know its both of your professional matter. Bondita is still young, she has that stubbornness in her eyes, that spark to win just like you have. People say similarities between a husband and wife make their relationship strong but now am just concerned that this stubbornness won't ruin both of your relationship." - Trilochan Kaka

"Don't worry Kaka, Bondita is just being objective she isn't thinking in a broader spectrum. She is just concerned about her views and this stubbornness of her can become her weakness anytime which I don't want it to be. I don't know which one of our clients is being honest. My motive is not to win against Bondita rather if she would win then who will be the most happiest for her? Won't it he me? Kaka no matter what happens I won't let Bondita get blindfolded by her stubbornness and for that even if I have to risk our relationship or play hardball in her case I surely would." - uttered Anirudh and left for the court

"Durga maa, no matter whatever may happen but please don't tense their delicate thread like relationship more." - said Trilochan Kaka to himself.

In the district court,

"My honor my client Mrs Parvati Devi, married this man Mr Anandswarup, 10 months ago and it has been only 6 months when they shifted from Kolkata city to the village Devipur. My client, who is 2 months pregnant has been mentally and physically abused by her husband Mr Anandswarup from the past 6 months. My lord can you see the bruises on her arms? This man not only tried to physically abuse her but also starved her to death many times.." - Bondita

"It's not true! I never tried to starve her!" - Anandswarup

"Order Order! Mr Anandswarup you will be given time to convey your thoughts." - Judge

Anirudh told Anandswarup to calm down through his gaze.

"Your honor can you see how furious this man is? He is alcoholic and the one who tries to harm his own wife! Such a husband should be given a severe punishment according to law and order so that no other man would ever think of harming any women at least in his dreams." - Bondita

"Opposition take the lead." - Judge

"Yes your honor, indeed whatever barrister Bondita uttered is true but half way. I agree to it that my client is indeed alcoholic but he never ever tried to harm his wife whom he always respected." - Anirudh
