[If you have read Book 1 Snowfire, you'll notice the plot is different to Book 2 and it doesn't match up! "Save Her" was the old ending for Book 1. I have placed it here to avoid confusion if you do wish to continue reading unedited Book 2 Snowfall. Snowfall will go through the editing process after I have finished editing Iridescent.]

Tears stung her eyes.

She couldn't comprehend what was happening, until her vision came back and Jason's face of horror was visible in her eyes.

Jason's eyes of fire dimmed in shock, as if a blast of wind had flattened the flame.

Eira's eyes started to flick between two colours — black and blue. However, the light finally won over the darkness; her normal colour returned.

"Eira...?" Jason breathed, his face pale as his eyes trailed down to her hand.

That very hand that gripped on the spike, pierced into her lower chest.

Evans' smile faltered and his dark eyes widened at the unexpected twist.

His swan shrieked painfully, it's wings flapping unnaturally; bent and disorientated. Its previous elegance had completely disappeared.

Feathers fell, and the swan's body shivered. Under its own extreme pain, it took off and flew into the sky. It's scream and cry echoing away in the air.

Evans clutched his chest tightly. His dark shirt and his leather gloves stretching under his own grip. His purple eyes glanced up at Eira and Jason, a raspy laugh escaped his lips.

"Oh Eira, so unexpected!" He laughed loudly. His figure, also unnaturally bent, bled into black feathers. They floated to the ground where only a flicker of purple eyes had left a sparkle.

Jason collapsed onto the ice after his restraints were broken. Without caring about anything else, he stood up and ran towards Eira.

Eira wheezed painfully, taking harsh breaths when Jason embraced her shaking figure.

His presence gave her warmth; her body temperature had always been colder than others, but at that moment, it was way too cold. It didn't feel normal.

She knew it wasn't normal.

Her knees buckled, bringing Jason down with her. They sat on the ice, cold and alone. The place quiet as ever.

Eira liked it. She was glad that the chaos was over. No more noise, no more pain, no more...

The warm blood had embraced her fingers as she let go of the icicle. She exhaled deeply, her vision was filled with Jason's worried glances.

"Eira... it's okay, everything is going to be okay..." Jason didn't recognise his shaking voice. He took her cold hand, their rings touching each other as he did. He felt her tiny flame swaying weakly.

"You're not going to leave... I promise." Jason whispered.

Eira opened her mouth. Her lips felt dry as the vapour came floating out into the air. Eira focused her glance on Jason. His face behind the vapour seemed even more intriguing.

Jason covered her wound, wrapping his arms around the icicle still stuck out of her.

His chest tightened upon seeing the pain she had taken for him. It was his fault, he should've known what was happening to her.

She's going to be fine. I promised her parents that I'll bring her back!!!

He inhaled and just as he was about to heal her, Eira took his hand.
