The sound of a gunshot made me jolt. I twist just at the right angle making the bullet hit my shoulder. I screamed in pain and collapsed, clutching my right shoulder. I flop down on my back lazily and looked up at Zach.

"You'll never win!" I spat at him.

"Oh, sweet Blazefur, you never give up do you?" He asked, kneeling beside me.

"NO!" I yowled in outrage, reaching for a gun beside me.

But he already kicked the gun away, stomping on my arm in the process. I choked on a sob, clutching my right arm to my chest. Then I couldn't do anything. Zach was nowhere to be seen. Pain. I just felt numb. I couldn't move. I  couldn't see. I couldn't feel. I tried to feel something. I was stuck. I couldn't breathe.  I just laid in the grass. The world around me had gone silent. Nothingness. Darkness. Just an endless black hole.

I sit up straight as my eyes shot open. I was still breathing heavily. Sweat dripped down my temple. I gulped trying to slow my increasing heart rate. I had to tell Rusty. I glance at the clock.

I run my hands through my wavy hair and grabbed my phone. I glance at my shoulder. No blood. Strange.

 Meet me in my room.

I text him. He almost texts back immediately.

 I'm coming ;)

I pace around my room repeating the same words in my head. It was just a dream. It wasn't real. It was fake. Dreams aren't real. Zach isn't evil. I'm not hurt. It was just a dream. Just a dream. Just a dream. Just a dream. It wasn't real. I had to repeat that over ten times before I actually believed myself. I look at the window hoping to see the familiar blaze orange hair. I start chewing on my fingernails to subside the worry that was creeping up on me. I heard a knock on the window. I rush over, unlock the window, and opened it.

"Thanks for coming," I sigh in relief.

"Anytime," Rusty smiled.

But by the way he looked, I knew he was troubled too.

"What's going on?" He asks.

"I had a dream. Eh, more like a nightmare," I grumble.

"I had one too," He murmured.

I go back to pacing and chewing my nails. I had enough things to worry about. Mom was in the hospital ill with cancer, my Dad is one inch closer to getting fired and I still haven't figured out what to wear for a function we're having at school.
