dead as the sea

an endless

blue

stretches before you

it's like staring into a

sapphire

a sea made out of

glittering gemstone

bubbles like

diamonds

swirl lazily

up up up

towards the surface

where the sunlight

hits the waves

you're sinking

like a stone

beneath the deep

blue

the musical

shushing

of the water

lulls your eyes

closed

your lungs

burn

you can imagine

who will find you

floating

face down

but you don't

stop

sinking

pushing the air

from your lungs

until there is no more

left

you're not even

halfway

to the bottom yet

maybe you'll

live

long enough

to feel your

feet

touch the

sand

or maybe not

wasn't that the

point

to dive down

and never come up

again

when they find you

the moon is

high in the sky

and you are

dead

in the water

dead as the

sapphire

sea

and the

diamond

bubbles

of your

very

last

breath
