flustered

and he was gone

early

the next morning

but in the end

you decided

to trust him

you owed him

forgive him

if it turned out

break you down

seep into the

marrow

and settle

steaming

like poison

escape

into your blood

he doesn't deserve

your tears

that's a what if

because he didn't

because the lipstick

stain

on his cheek

was really just paint
