a broken

bloody

nose

but it's not as

painful

as the

internal

pain

not as painful

as the

self inflicted

pain

craters in your

skin

that nobody

would notice

if they weren't

looking

lines like

rivers

and

valleys

like the

score marks

on a piece of

pottery

raw

unfinished

never healing

because you are

always

reopening

old wounds

there is a

difference

between

realism

and

reality

and you

understand

it better than

anybody

just like there is

a gap

between

anger

and madness

a divide

separating

pain

and true

sorrow

you grieve

for yourself

for whoever

you used to be

before

this

before life

hurt you

in a way that you

can't come back from

before you

hurt you

a bloody nose is

nothing

nothing compared to

what you have

done

to yourself
