The Masks of Venice Caper

"I wonder what we're in for this time." Player says as everybody takes their seats, he props his feet up in Carmen's lap who chuckles and pats his leg.

"Lets watch and find out." Carmen says. Once everybody is sitting and the timer runs out the show begins.

(Opening)

"I never get tired of that opening. It's cool and the music is really good." Gray says.

Cleo: What have we become? I never fathomed that we could be capable of such excess.

"What is she complaining about now?" Sheena says rolling her eyes. Cleo is easily her least favorite teacher.

Brunt: New neighborhood, didn't know how many trick-or-treaters to expect.

"Were... were they expecting any at all?" Jules asks.

"We never had any on the island so I have no idea what that is about." Carmen says.

Maelstrom: We are occupying a secret base, Coach Brunt. What made you think we would expect any?

"I swear the four of them have one collective brain cell and Shadowsan took it with him when he left." Carmen says. Shadowsan's lip twitches in amusement as he had to agree with her assessment.

Cleo: Ugh. And was it worth making ourselves sick?

"Do they know they don't have to eat all the candy on Halloween?" Sonia asks.

"One brain cell. One missing brain cell." Player says.

Bellum: If you come across any with nougat, do put them aside for me.

Maelstrom: Now, my candy-coated Countess, after last night's bayou fiasco, we are looking forward to your mask-themed scheme.

"Is everything this season going to be related to masks?" Gray asks.

"Seems like it mi amigo." Antonio says.

Cleo: The assigned operatives are preparing to rendezvous as we speak, and I shall provide all pertinent details... Hmm, right after one last little morsel.

(Transition to the Bat Plane)

Carmen: You smack down VILE in one part of the world, and they pop up in another.

"It's a terrible game of wack a mole." Ivy says.

"I love that game.... but uh, not this version." Zack says back peddling at the dangerous look Ivy gives him.

Player: In this case, Venice, Italy. The entire city is constructed on 118 small islands, separated by canals and connected by something like 400 bridges. It's completely surrounded by water.

"So no cars Zack." Gray says. Zack pouts, he's fine driving boats but he prefers cars.

Carmen: That's why you'll never see an automobile in Venice, Player. Everyone either walks or rides in boats.

Player: Check it out! Venice has an annual event called Carnevale, where people wear elaborate costumes and masks.

Carmen: A shame we're here in fall rather than spring. The masks and costumes of Carnevale di Venezia can be molto bello, as they say in Italy, "very beautiful."

Player: Whoa. Looks like they can also be molto creepy. But since VILE's managed to mask the particulars of their plan this time around, I thought you might want to do recon by touring the city's canals with old friends.

"Boat seems the most efficient way to get around Venice." Chase says.

"As long as you're not the one driving." Zari says. Nobody scolds Player for a particular hand gesture he directs towards her.
