I Need You

51. Darling

"D means Darling and Demon" I say before pressing my lips to his. 

I have missed this feeling and the butterflies that go crazy in my stomach. The kiss is slow but intimate. He pours all his feelings into it. He whimpers when I put my hands on his neck. 

I pull apart to look at him. He has some scars on his neck and some gun wounds. I run my fingers through his hair. The moon light coming from the window is hitting his face and he looks more beautiful and handsome.

All the tears I have been holding up for this long find a way to escape. He kisses my forehead and wipes the tears away. 

"I missed you" I say holding his hand. I am afraid that this turns out to be a dream.  "Even I missed you sweetheart" he says cupping my face with his hands and pulling my chin up. I look into those deep green eyes which made me fall and which made me miss him soo much. 

"Where have you been?" I ask after staring at him for some time. He made me miss him like hell. "I escaped after they set the house on fire with some of the men and then after reaching the main road, I fell unconscious. Later I woke up at someone's place after 10 days. The couple took care of me and they didn't let me go till today because I was weak" he says looking at me.

"I brought them with me here" he says pointing towards the door.

We both get up from the bed and head downstairs. I wipe the tears from my face before I go to them. 

They both look like they are in their late 50s and they look like sweet people. They get up from the couch when we approach them and the lady hugs me. "Hi I am Brendan and this is Anna my wife" he says extending his hand for a shake. When I give him my hand, he holds it with his two hands and shakes my hand. 

"Thank you for taking care of him" I say to them. The tears are rolling down my cheeks continuously. I am not able to stop them anymore. Aaron keeps rubbing my back.

"It's okay. Don't cry. He is safe and he is strong now. And he had been a good boy. But he was so persistent on coming back. But sorry we had to make him stay back and we had no means to communicate." Anna says wiping my fresh tears. I nod at her words. 

"You two can use this room" I say opening the room door. Aaron asked them to stay here for a few days and they said ok. He told me that they live far away from the city and deep in the forest. I explain them everything on how to use the appliances and I arrange their clothes in the cupboard. 

Anna said she would cook something for us to eat, but I said I would do that. But she is so persistent on making the dessert. So I let her do that. The staff already made salad for me. She said they are okay with anything. I googled for some swiss dishes and settled on Emmental Apple Rösti and Zürcher Geschnetzeltes. I found out that they both are mostly served together.

Anna made apple crumble pudding. She helped me in setting the table. The men were busy discussing something in the living-room. "You know what Brendan and Aaron are so similar" she says looking at them. I just smile at that. 

"I think I would get full just with the smell of the food" Aaron says coming to the table. He comes to my side and kisses my forehead. 

"Wanna have a drink" Brendan says getting the bottle from the bar counter. I and Aaron look at each other and shake our heads side-ways in unison. I have very less tolerance for alcohol. 

"Aaron-" Brendan says with a raised eyebrow. "Umm I actually promised her that I won't drink. So I am not going to" Aaron says looking at me and he smirks when he sees me blush. 

"See he is such a sweet heart. He isn't drinking coz his girl asked him not to and you don't even say you would stop for me" Anna says with a sigh.

We all laugh and start eating. Anna kept saying that she liked the dishes and so was Brendan. I am happy that they liked it. Aaron tells about how he almost hit Brendan when he said he shouldn't move and how tough he has been to them in the starting.

"Thank you for everything Anna. I don't know what I would do without him. When everyone was saying he was dead, I was still hoping that he is still breathing somewhere and thanks for that" I say looking down. I am still crying. I am happy that he is here with me now. All the worst nightmares I had didn't come true.

I was worried whenever I had a dream about Aaron being hurt or he dying. I wanted to cry my heart out, but I couldn't coz I promised him. Anna gets up from her chair and comes to my side. She hugs me tight and rubs my back. "It's okay Mia. He is okay. Look at him, he is worried that you are crying" she says wiping my tears.

She serves us the pudding she made and it is very yummy. I just loved it so much.

We both go upstairs after Anna and Brendan went into the room. Aaron kept speaking about how sweet they were and how many times he tried to escape and got lost in the forest. He told me that Anna is used to cook delicious food for him and the way he used to miss me.

"So you kept your promise" he says playing with my hair. I rest my head on his chest and nod. He keeps playing with my hair. 

Meanwhile my phone starts buzzing on the nightstand. Aaron reaches it to give me. But he doesn't he keeps looking at the screen wide-eyed. 

"Who's this Baby?" he asks with a raised eyebrow.
