An amazing birthday

"Morning, Roza," warmly greeted my lover as I entered the gym for training. A sneaky smile was on his lips. What was he thinking?
"Morning, Comrade," I grinned back.
"I hate to cut short our fun before it's begun, but you need to go change," he looked at me completely seriously, though I could still detect something was up.
"For what? What's up, Dimitri?" I was so lost it wasn't funny. An amused look crossed his face.
"You can't possibly think I'd forget or ignore your eighteenth, can you?"
"I told you to ignore it!" I groaned playfully.
"No." He chuckled and I couldn't resist melting. That man was totally clueless. "You told me not to waste money on you, to not get you a present. Now, Roza, go get dressed into something smart-casual-and make sure you bring that stake." It clicked and I grinned despite trying to not get my hopes up.
"We're going off campus? Just us?"
"Yes." He truly smiled. "I'll collect you from your dorm in twenty."
"See you soon!" I called as I rushed back to my dorm

I hurriedly showered and dressed. Choosing a red satin shirt that clung everywhere, revealed just a teasing amount of cleavage-just enough to drive a man wild while also remaining classy- and had frilling around the top. (I promise you it was a Lissa-demanded fashion purchase.) A pair of black slacks accompanied the top-only adding to classy business-woman look. My stake fit snugly into an altered pocket of those pants. I wore my most sensible black heels-ones I'd still be able to fight in should the need arise. I also did my hair up into a half-up half-down do (once again making sure I could easily and quickly put it up if needs be). I added basic make-up, but not enough to blow the cover.

Whatever of said cover was left after the caves, my hysterics and struggle to save my Dimitri. I knew people were sending rumours around that I was crushing on him... That ship had sailed long ago and docked when we'd learned it was more than simply a physical infatuation, and that we both loved each other. Painfully so.

Dimitri had been adding fuel to the fire over the past few days. Slowly but cautiously letting the student and staff body see our friendly side. It was only to be expected he'd try to thank me and work towards a more personal connection given I'd saved the so-called god's ass. So, people were beginning to wonder if there was something more between us.

He'd said before the rescue mission that he didn't want to hide much longer. I agreed with that idea wholeheartedly because I was sick of the pain hiding had created. I was so damn sick of having guys hounding my arse and trying to get a piece of me like I was some sort of piece of meat. I was hoping once I came public with Dimitri that Adrian would quit making such a scene and give up trying to buy my affection.

A knock sounded on my door. I rushed to answer it. Dimitri. And, oh god, I'd never seen him so damn hot. He was slightly more dressed up than he had been for Christmas lunch and I just wanted to faint at the sight. Now, if I had thought my outfit was tauntingly clingy, it was nothing compared to this take on his guardian get-up. It was showing off everything without actually revealing a thing. It so wasn't fair when I knew exactly what power, love and tenderness lay underneath.
"Hi," I shakily managed to get out.
"Hey," his voice held a husky note to it and also shook.
"Come in," I stepped back and let him into my somewhat unkempt, and in a state of disarray, dorm.
"You may want to pack an overnight bag, my love," he whispered against my lips once I shut the door.
"What are you doing with me?" I moaned against his lips. "Because you sure as hell have no clue what you do to me simply by existing."
"Neither do you. As for what I have planned? That is a birthday surprise, Roza. But you do get to know that it's just us and you have the day off school. Oh, and that I love you to no end you amazing young woman." His lips pressed against mine in a soft, loving kiss. My own lips gladly returned the connection and movement between us.
"I love you. Now lemme pack. You might wanna wipe that lipgloss off in the meantime. We don't wanna blow the cover, just yet." I just had to squeeze his arse. Eliciting a growl.
"Roza! Couldn't it wait?" he whined playfully. It was such a cute moment. We'd never been quite so playful.
"Sorry," I pouted and put on my innocent face. Which he knew to be my most guilty one and often turned him on.
"You're so not. We are never going to get out of here if you keep this up and at this pace. We do have a timetable to stick to."
"You know you love me!" I teased quietly while throwing the basic necessities in an overnight bag.
"Yes. I do. Which is exactly why I want to get us out those gates in a timely manner."
