I could feel the blood draining from my body at his words. We should have expected this. We should have been extra cautious. We shouldn't have done it in the first place. But none of that matters because it's all over now. He knows.

I entered my room and quickly shut the door, locking it in case Alexandra or Shea returned.

I noticed a piece of paper that was shaking in his grasp, "I'm assuming he wrote you?" He wouldn't look at me, but I knew it wasn't good. I knew this would probably be the end of us. I couldn't let that happen.

His slow nods deepened my despair, "We can't do this anymore Grier... Like I've said before, it's far too dangerous for you. More dangerous than you know."

I shook my head, refusing to accept his words, "No, it simply means we have to be more careful Draco. That's all."

His eyes finally met mine with regret hidden within each stare, "It's not that simple. We. Can't. Do. This. Anymore." He emphasized each word, elongating the poison that rested between his lips, "We aren't even dating."

I bit back the tears that stung at my eyes, uncertain how to proceed, "Draco, we can do this. W-We just have to try harder."

He laughed at this, "I can't keep you safe anymore, so the best solution is to drop this and drop me. I don't want to have to do this, but I know how stubborn you are Grier. I want you to hate me."

The look in his eyes sent shivers down my spine, "What are you talking about Draco?" I wasn't sure if I even wanted to ask the question.

The green glow of the room illuminated each and every sharp feature of his stunning face. I studied each curve and reminisced on the way his lips had moved against mine.

This may be the last time I was this close to him.

He slowly grabbed the sleeve of his jumper, lifting the green material on his left arm, rising it just above his elbow.

I couldn't tear my eyes away know matter how badly I desired to.

The Dark Mark.

It was clear as day on his forearm, yet it pierced his skin with a heavy vengeance, screaming possession over his very soul. He couldn't run from it, even if he tried.

I covered my mouth in disdainful ignorance. I always saw the good in him, even when he told me about his father, and I would continue it because I knew his true intentions. He would never want this.

That is until he spoke again.

"I was there, Grier. I was there when your mother died. I was there when you were tortured. I watched as the brightness of your soul dimmed to a glowing ember. I was there, and my father was the one who tainted your very essence," he watched my every move, every facial expression, every withering of my soul.

Then, I remembered my first day at Hogwarts, when I was being sorted in front of the school.

I couldn't help but feel a sense of, not only familiarity, but undeniable attraction towards the brooding boy.

It was the grey eyes that hypnotized my very soul. The ones that met mine after my mom's body dropped with cold negligence onto the deadly soles of Earth's tainted surface.

They were both there. Lucius. Draco.

He knew my story. He knew my past because he contributed to it. He may not have casted the Earth shattering spells, but he allowed it.
