Your mouth fell open in shock as Sangmi gave you that evil, pleased smile. The moment it turned into another moan, you ran.

Your entire body felt dirty like you had rolled in the mud because now you were part of a nasty secret that would break the heart of the boy who held yours. You felt the panic in your chest rising so quickly, it felt as if would suffocate you. What should you do? What could you do? Returning to class was unthinkable right now. How could you face Taehyung after this? Should you even tell him? You weren't sure it was your place to reveal something like this.

Without thinking, you ran from the school. What you were doing, you had no idea; you just needed to escape. Eomma would be at work this time of day, so you thought it would be wisest to go home. Maybe you could call Seokjin. Was he still in class? Your mind was so jumbled, you couldn't remember his schedule.

The only thing you could remember was that disgusting look Sangmi had on her face. That mental picture in your mind made you want to throw up. You hated her. You hated that you hadn’t done something.

When you came to your front door, you were already in tears. You fumbled with your house keys, hands trembling. Everything was made harder when you were hyperventilating and seething with anger and despair. The thought that the girl Taehyung loved would do something so vile and not even care when she was caught was sickening. What kind of monster was she? You had to wonder how long she had been doing this and how many men she had used to lie to Taehyung.

In your frazzled state, you dropped your keys. That was the last straw, breaking the knot of stress in your throat and sending you to your knees. Your body shook with all the roaring emotions rushing through you. Tears stained your face, your hair gluing itself to your cheeks. Taehyung didn't deserve this and neither did you.

He deserved to be loved and cherished as the gem he was, not treated like some toy. The pain felt as if you had been the one betrayed. It was like claws were tearing at your heart and you couldn't imagine how upset Taehyung would be after knowing what Sangmi did. He loved her ... how could she do this to him?

In your moment of gloom, you didn't hear the door unlock. Suddenly, it flew open. You jumped back and balked at the man standing in the doorway.

Namjoon’s eyes widened in surprise, his mouth resembling a fish gasping for water. "Y/N, what are you doing out of school?"

You tried to speak, but only a broken cry came out. Namjoon jumped and looked back into the house. "I-uh ... Seokjin-hyung went out to get s-some food but h-he'll be back soon."

You nodded.

After a moment of silence, he knelt down to your level. "Did something happen?" he asked softly.

You nodded.

"Okay, come on, you need to lay down." He lifted you by your underarms and gently pulled you into the house. You sniffed and struggled to walk with him as best as your weak legs could. He helped you sit down on the large couch and left to fetch you some water. Drawing your legs up to your chest, you hoped you didn’t look as pathetic as you felt. When Namjoon returned with the glass, he set it down on the coffee table before sitting beside you.

"I'll wait until Seokjin-hyung comes home to ask you anything," he said after clearing his throat. "I just want to make sure that you’re okay."

You nodded to assure him as you sipped the cold water through the straw. It soothed your raw throat and cooled the heat in your blood.

Slowly, your thoughts became clearer. Looking back on all the times you had any doubt about Sangmi, you realized you were completely right. Every single time you had told yourself that Sangmi didn't mean to smirk at you or put you down, when all this time, she really was this horrible, cheater. You had never hated someone so much in your life. Your body heated up again when the image of her face entered your mind once again.
