You woke up in your four poster bed and stretched. You could hear Alicia Spinnet softly snoring in the bed to your right. Angelina Johnson was already out of bed and sitting in front of the mirror, doing her make-up. You got up and combed through your hair and straightened it into your usual style. You had to lean over Angelina to throw on a few dashes of mascara and a bit of blush. It wasn't anything big. You had never been too into painting your face, unlike Angelina, who had a full routine. Angelina had never been particularly fond of you. It was common knowledge that she had a massive crush on Fred and George. You assumed she saw you as competition, even though you had never thought of the Weasleys as anything more than your best friends.
"Until now," whispered a small voice in your head, which you completely shut down the moment it had spoken.
"Good morning, Angelina!" you said, smiling, "Want to come go to the Great Hall?"
"Oh, thanks for the offer, but no," said Angelina, "I've still got to do my eyeshadow and put on my fake lashes," You nodded. Alicia was still asleep and before you walked out, you shook her awake. Alicia muttered something and rolled over.
"Alicia," you said, "Alicia, we're playing Slytherin in ten minutes!" Alicia suddenly sat straight up in her bed with a wild and scared look on her face. You laughed. Alicia punched you slightly in the arm.
"You're such an idiot, Y/N, but thanks for waking me up," she said.
"Knew you'd wake up for that," you laughed and headed out of the girls' dormitories.
You headed into the Great Hall and approached the Gryffindor table. You could see Lee, Fred, and George talking with their heads together. That was never a good sign. You decided to sneak up on them slightly. As you for closely, you heard Fred talking.
"Blimey, bro, she's gorgeous," he said.
"Ask her out then!" said George sarcastically.
"Don't" Lee advised, "Because if you hurt her, I'll break your nose,"
"Nah, I'd break my own nose," said Fred.
"So who is the girl you'd break your nose over?" you asked, sitting down next to Fred. The three boys jumped a mile out of their seats at your voice.
"Someone that's sitting right-," began George, but Fred lunged over and covered his twin's mouth.
"No one," Fred said, his cheeks a brilliant shade of red.
"Uh huh," you said, with a raised eyebrow. You were about to ask who the girl Fred was talking about was again, when Harry, Hermione, and Ron entered the Great Hall. As they passed the Slytherin table, Draco Malfoy did a horrible impression of a swooning fit. The Slytherins howled with laughter. The trio took their seats next to your group. George passed them their new course schedules. Harry looked positively glum.
"What's up with you, Harry?" said George.
"Malfoy" Ron answered immediately. You looked back over at Malfoy as the Slytherin pretended to faint again.
"The little git," said Lee.
"Definitely on the list of biggest gits that live in these halls," nodded George.
"He wasn't so cocky last night when the dementors were down where I was," said Oliver, who had just sat down next to you, "Came running into our compartment and nearly wet himself in front of Alicia, Angelina, Katie, and I,"
"Wish I could have seen that," Ron said with a laugh.
"Nasty things, those dementors," said George.
