I let a giggle fall from my lips. "Reinette, you need to show us your bedroom."

"What?" The Doctor turned to me with wide eyes.

"Oh, my God! That came out so wrong! Please pretend I didn't say that." I groaned. "And get your mind out of the fucking gutter. This is just a letter from my future self saying something I'm sure you'll be happy with."

Before I could show my boyfriend the letter that said 'she has the same fireplace', Madame du Pompadour had taken one hand each, leading us out of the room.

"It's not a copy. It's the original." Reinette informed once we had reached her bedroom. "I had it moved here and was exact in every detail."

"The fireplace..." The Time Lord murmured, walking towards it slowly. "The fireplace from your bedroom. When did you do this?"

"Many years ago. In the hope that a door once opened, may someday be opened again. One never quite knows when one needs one's Doctor...or great friend. It appears undamaged, do you think it will still work?"

"Future Lilly wouldn't have said so otherwise. When did she write it?" I questioned, trying to limit my movement due to the glass still in my arm. Unfortunately, I'd forgotten about it until I moved too fast.

"Your last visit was a month ago." She said, handing me my normal clothes from the bed.

"You broke the bond with the ship when you moved it. Which means it was off-line when the mirror broke. That's what saved it. But..." He moved closer to the fireplace, inspecting it closely. "...the link is basically physical, and it's still physically here." The Doctor pushed his ear against the mantle and tapped it. "Which might just mean, if we're lucky... if we're very, very, very, very, very, very lucky..." He found the spot he was looking for and beamed. "Aha!"

"What?" I asked tentatively, not wanting to get my hopes too high up.

"Loose connection!" He aimed his sonic screwdriver at the part he was tapping while taking my free hand to to pull me with him. "Need to get a man in!" My boyfriend slammed his hand against the mantelpiece. "Wish us luck!"

"No..." The blonde whispered. But it was too late to do anything, as the wall had already started spinning.

As soon as we got back into the spaceship, we crouched down for the Time Lord to call through the flickering flames. "Madame de Pompadour!" She appeared on the other side, hope shining in her eyes. "Still wanna see those stars?"

"More than anything." Reinette answered.

"Give me two minutes. Pack a bag!"

"Am I going somewhere?"
