Chapter 31

Stefan pov

It's already been one and a half days since she's sleeping. The doctor did mentioned that she needs complete rest. When I had returned back with Liam, I was shocked when I found her lying unconcious on the floor. When the doctor arrived, I threatened him if anything happens to Jess, I'll ruined him because he was late. He gave Jess one look and immediately said she needed to be at the hospital.

Because she got hit by the car, her ribs are bruised and her head got quite an impact as well. Thankfully, there's no internal bleeding. When I asked the doctor why she's still not waking up, he told me that sometimes patients who go through traumatic events, takes time to wake up because their body and mind went through a shock. She's also having a high temparature.

Her accident replayed in my mind again and again and I vowed to make Ana suffer. She did a big mistake by hurting Jess and Liam. Eliot is handling the case because most of time I have to be with Liam and Jess. She's lucky I'm not the one because I swear to God, she would have been six feet under right now. I have already speak with the commissioner. She won't be getting any bail soon.

My eyes fall on her sleeping face and all my anger starts dissolving. She's too good for me. I don't deserve her. The way she loves Liam is so pure and I made a big mistake the other day by lashing out on her. She was already hurt physically and mentally, I know, I broke her. No wonder she cried so much. She could not even form a proper sentence.

Liam called her mama. I smile when I remembered him saying this. I could see the happiness in Jess's eyes but I ruined it. I'm so fucking angry at myself for this. The little guy won't even sleep without her. I had to place him beside her last night so that he could sleep peacefully. He's always crying for her.

"Here Stef", Ciara says giving me a cup of coffee. "Do you want to go home for a little bit?"

"No." I want to be here when she wakes up. I have to tell her how I feel and how sorry I am.

"She will be alright don't worry", she squeezes my hand. "She's a tough cookie."

"I know", I smile a little bit and sigh. "I hope she forgives me. I hurt her terribly with my words."

"Eliot told me", Ciara adds. "Don't worry Stef. As far as I know Jess, she will understand you didn't mean them. I hope you do realize she's a wonderful person who cares for Liam deeply."

I nod. But deep inside I know the words already made a big impact on her. Her eyes told me everything. I feel my heart twisting in agony when I recall how bitterly she was crying.

Just wake up Jess. I want to hold you and tell you how much sorry I am.

"Where's Liam?", I ask after a while.

"He's outside with mum and Leo", she says.

My mother has been here since this morning. She started crying when she saw Liam and refused to leave until Jess woke up. She wants to express her gratitude for whatever Jess has done for Liam.

"Stefan is there anything going on between Cara and you?", Ciara demands after a while.

"Of course not Ciara", I reply. "The news is completely fake. She was drunk that night."

"Then why were you giving her roses?", she continues probing while crossing her arms.

"I never gave her any roses"

"I don't know what to say", she sighs after a while. "But if you like Jess you better tell her as soon as she wakes up. She's been hurt enough and does not deserve all this. Don't forget Leo and I are watching you."
