Chapter ~16~

Listen to ' Close your eyes by RHODES' again. Imagine it in slow motion.

All the guys look at him as I stand up. "Yeah.." I say to him. "I'm so sorry" he says. "She left this for you" he says handing me a letter. "Thank you" I say. I feel Dutch wrap his arms round me and I just turn and cry. I let out a sob. "I lost her Dutch..I lost her" I say falling to the floor still in his arms. "Shh.. Lydia I'm so sorry" he whispers as he rubs my back. I let a sob.

"We'll be moving you to your dad" I hear a cop say. I turn around. "I'm not moving" I say to the cop. "It's best for you" he says again. "I'm not moving back with that man!" I say to him. "Why not" he says. I grab Tommy's hand. "He used to abuse me and my mother! That's why we moved here and I'm not moving back in with him!" I say. "She can stay here..I'll keep  my eye on her" I hear Mrs. LaRusso say.

"Alright then" the cop says. I walk into my moms room and grab her favorite pair of heals and her favorite dress. I walk back to the cop. "I wanna have a proper funeral for her..dress  her in her favorite clothing. Tomorrow morning is when we will burry her..at 8:00 in the morning" I say to them. "Yes ma'am" the cop says. "We'll ill let you rest for the wrest of your night and see you in the morning..there will be cars waiting for you and your friends tomorrow morning" the cop says. "We will escort you" he says again.

"Thank you" I say. They walk out and shut the door. I open the envelope and read the letter.

"I'm sorry sweetheart. They said my cancer was back. That "date" was a cover up for me. I only had 24 hours. By the time you read this I don't think I would be here. I love you with all my heart. The bank account under your name has a good amount of money. I love you and I don't want you to forget that. Johnny and his friends they all love you. Daniel loves you. I'm sorry about this sweetheart. Your an amazing girl and an amazing mother in the future when your ready. I want you to tell them about me. I love you lydia.. your my babygirl for life. Don't forget me and remember I didn't die in pain.

I put the note back in the envelope. I walk to my room and put it in my drawer. I shut it and lay on my bed. I let the tears slip and fall down my face. "I miss you" I whisper. I let out a sob. I turn to the side not facing the door but the window. I take a deep breathe.
(Stop the song)

"You know she's in a better place" I hear tommy say. I turn and look at him. "Yeah But I didn't tell her I loved her or goodbye today" I say to him. "She died without a 'goodbye' or a 'I love you'..that will forever be my fault" I say to him. He shuts my door and lays on the bed next to me. He wraps his arms around me.

"Don't blame yourself for that lydia. It could've been her cancer" he says. "It was" I say again. "Last night about her fake date she went to the doctors I guess and It came back but it spreaded bad and she only had 24 hours" I say to him. "And she died without a I love you" I say him. "She's in a better place..she didn't die in pain" he says "and no matter what happens lydia..your mom always loves you" he says holding me close.

"She's gonna look down on you and smile and remember the memories. When you have your own kids she's gonna be look down at you" he says. "Yeah but it won't be the same" i say to him. "The guys are staying the night tonight..I'll stay in here with you..get some rest" he says. "Thanks tommy" I say hugging him.

I let a few tears slip before I close my eyes and fall into a dreamless sleep.
