The Christmas season was upon them. Eviana felt the need to decorate the house while Pacho thought that all they needed was a christmas tree and they would be good. Of course Eviana wasn't going to let that slide, she wanted Mateo's first christmas to be more than perfect so she decorated every spot she could find.
Many presents were already under the tree, most of them addressed to Mateo. Eviana wasn't allowed to go christmas shopping so she sent a sicario out to do the shopping for her. She got Pacho some shoes he had been wanting and a silver ring with his initials carved inside. For Alvaro, she got him a watch. He kept breaking his regularly.
Mateo got the usual kid presents. Clothes, toys, and a special gift from uncle Chepe: a custom shot glass with an 'M' printed on it.
"For when he takes his first shot! Before you know it, you'll be joining him!" Chepe joked while Eviana tolled her eyes.
"This is going in the cabinet forever." She pointed a finger at Chepe while she took the shot glass and put it in the top cabinet.
"Until he's twenty one, Evi." Chepe argued.
"Never."
"Eighteen?"
"How about until I'm dead then he can have as much alcohol as he wants." Eviana grabbed Mateo from his play mat and walked upstairs to the nursery.

With the holidays coming to an end, a new celebration was here. Gilberto's daughter had gotten married. Eviana was extremely happy for the new bride to start her new life with her husband. After the ceremony, Pacho and Eviana were seated listening to Miguel make a speech for his niece.
"When my niece was growing up, she didn't think this day would come. She was so skinny. She wore glasses and had braces." Miguel said, receiving low chuckles from the audience. "When she was twe, she thought her life was over. I told her to wait and be patient. Someday her beauty on the outside would match her beauty within. You have never looked more beautiful than you do tonight." He raised his glass in the air. "Cheers to family! To Marta and Diego!"
Pacho raised his glass. The audience erupted into cheers, Eviana wishing she was at home with Mateo. Helena offered to babysit the one year old while Eviana and Pacho attended the wedding. She couldn't remember the last time she attended a wedding.
"You look sad. You're at a wedding, Evi, weddings are supposed to be happy." Pacho drank from his glass again. The music had started and people rushed to the dancefloor.
"I know and I am happy, but I'm really missing Mateo right now." Eviana watched as Marta and Diego made their way to the dancefloor. She watched how in love the couple looked. They were so happy and in love. She desperately wanted to feel the same way. "I'm the happiest I've ever been, Pacho, I promise." She nodded at her brother.
