I opened the door and shifted my eyes downwards. There was a little pint-sized nugget standing at my front door dressed in a tuxedo. Who died? I deduced looking at him wondering how this kid got stranded and ended up knocking on my door.

This unaccompanied minor could not have been more than fourteen or fifteen years old.

His extremely proper attire did not seem needed on a Friday night. Normally, fancy Friday night attire is only worn by adults who are going to singles night at a club.

"Sorry kid," I said bending down to his height. "I don't do boy scout cookies. Try next door," I said. I attempted to shut the door in his face, but a forceful fist pushed it back at me.

Rudely, may I add.

"I must speak to you, and it is incredibly urgent," he whispered.

There was a hint of an accent in his voice. It sounded like British with a hint of Australian undertones. I was not good at detecting specific accents.

Coming from out of nowhere two extremely large men were standing on either side of him. They looked like secret service agents.

Was I being punked?

"Quit speaking like a rich asshole. It doesn't suit you," I said.

I do not think I should use profanities in front of children. Oops.

"You're Alexandra Katerina Fitzgerald and I am Dominick Hudson Fitzgerald ... your brother," he whispered.

He knew.

He knows my full name. Nobody knows my full name.

Not even Kat.

I hesitated. "Come in," I whispered.

The boy took a seat on our living room couch. His two bodyguards stood on either side of the couch next to him. Both Kat and I stood off to the side. When I mentioned that nobody knows my real full name, I truly meant nobody.

My mother never bothered to remove my birth father's name from my birth certificate. When she passed away, I never wanted to be associated with him ever again. My aunt legally changed my name to Alex Fitz for when I started high school in order to have a fresh start as a new person. I never wanted to be called Fitzgerald - for the rest of my life.
