part forty-four

me, cal and harry were the last to arrive at this first pub of the night, everyone sitting at tables together waiting for us to come to start off the game.
ethan, lux, jj, simon, josh, freya and talia were all chatting away before we went and sat down with them. the group being smaller than what i expected, but big enough to enjoy the night.

"about time yous arrived lads, oh and emilia" ethan hollered as we joined them sitting between two long tables that were placed together

"that hurt that i wasn't included as a lad" i responded, only receiving a classic behzinga laugh that filled the corner of the pub we were sat in

"okay so since everyone is here can we start now?" lux asked before standing up as if he was presenting something

"so as everyone here knows, tonight we will all be partaking in a game of pub golf" he announced as we all applauded

"but of course, we need teams! so since there is ten of us we will be in pairs" he continued

"how will we choose partners" jj asked

"now that is what i don't know, how do we want to do this?" lux laughed while clasping his hands together

"use an app, like they spinning wheel ones" i told them, i got a bunch of heads nodding with quiet agreements in response

cal whipped his phone out, went onto an app and put everyone's names into it.
the rules were that the first persons name that gets chosen will get partnered up with whoever gets selected next and so on until everyone has someone in their team.

so cal clicked his phone, turning it around to us so we could see it spinning and the first person that it landed on was ethan.

"okay so who is ethan going to be partnered with" cal announced whilst tapping his phone again

once the wheel slowed down it landed on jj's name, which only caused ethan to bring out a loud sigh knowing jj was probably one of the biggest lightweights that were out tonight.

"mate i've lost, may as well just go home now" ethan laughed, throwing his head into his hands

one after another cal did the same, putting everyone into their pairs until it was finally time for the first round that we were all impatiently waiting for.
so the pairs came out as:
ethan and jj
harry and simon
freezy and freya
talia and josh
me and lux
i was somewhat happy that i had gotten lux, even though he is somewhat of a lightweight i know that he can down drinks so instantly i thought that we had the upper hand.

cal explained the rules to everyone, that at every hole there will be a par of how many sips you are allowed of the drink. but the aim was to get 1's the whole night meaning down everything in one sip, to get the lowest score altogether
lux and freezy went up to get everyone the first round of drinks, that was a shot, quite easy if i say so myself.

"jjs going to be in the bin by the end of the night" harry laughed from beside me

"i can't wait to see it if i'm honest" i giggled back, looking into his eyes

"you look really nice tonight" he whispered into my ear while placing a hand on my thigh under the table, so that nobody would see

"so do you, not exactly dressed up for it but still fit" i mumbled back which caused a grin to spread in his face, only showing a little bit on his teeth
