Chapter Nineteen: Guardian Angel

The sun was setting, painting the sky gold and orange. Eve didn't have time to admire the sunset, however. It was windy on the roof of the building. She pulled her mask over her face, kicking the door open. The hallway beyond the door was empty. She slunk inside, making her way towards the elevator. She got halfway there when a guard appeared. She immediately took him down with a powerful kick.
"Where are the prisoners kept?" she hissed at him.
"Third floor." Eve knocked him out, pressing the button in the elevator. She had just stepped out of the elevator when the alarm started ringing. A guard spotted her, raising his gun. Eve kicked off of the wall, using her momentum to flip him and throw him on his back as she hit the ground in a crouch.
"I'm looking for a certain prisoner. Where is the detective?"
