New Hearts Pt. 3

Quill and Rowan left awkwardly as Branch just stared at Lloyd

Knox got another thing of popcorn and handed it to Barb. Barb took it as everyone looked at the two

"Hate me? But Lloyd I didn't drop the tree." Branch said

"That doesn't matter!! You were trying to put me in danger!" Lloyd said

"And it worked." Val said

"VAL!!!" Everyone shouted

Val got quiet. Lloyd sighed, rolling his eyes and walked

"I know it was wrong, but please Lloyd let's just talk." Branch said

"Talk about what? You clearly just- I'm not dealing with this." Lloyd said

Branch followed him

"Yikes. Well I'm going home." Barb said

They all left

"Lloyd-"

They both heard something starting to break around them

Lloyd just casually walked away but just as he began, the ground below them fell apart and they fell in a river drifting into the river on the piece of ground

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!" Lloyd asked

"You see THIS is why you should've listened to me! This wouldn't have happened if you would just LISTEN ONCE IN YOUR LIFE!!!" Branch yelled

"Listen?! If you would just let me do my thing maybe I would!" Lloyd said

"If you want to do your own thing, maybe I could've taught you one thing-"

Branch accidentally broke Lloyds baseball bat. They both just stared at it

Lloyd expression into hate

"See? You ruin everything." Lloyd said

"Well you ruined this entire lesson!!" Branch said

Lloyd looked at him confused

"I ruined it?! I never even wanted to come and take it!!" Lloyd told him

"Well I didn't want you with Quill!! He was teaching you how to survive the WRONG WAY!!" Branch said

"BECAUSE HIS WAY IS FUNNER!!! I'VE ALREADY SURVIVED ON A WHOLE ISLAND FOR TWO WEEKS!!! No thanks to you." Lloyd said

"I JUST WANTED TO SPEND SOME QUALITY FATHER/SON BONDING WITH MY BOY!!" Branch yelled

"I'm NOT!!! You're little boy anymore dad! I hatched months ago! I've grown up!! I've got my own life now!!" Lloyd said

"I know that!! I just want to be apart of it.." Branch said

Lloyd looked at Branch

"You're my son Lloyd, no matter how big you get... you'll always be my son..." Branch said

Branch sighed and looked away. Lloyd looked away from Branch holding knees. Lloyd looked at water as they floated away and suddenly felt embarrassed and ashamed of himself

"There are times you drive me, shall we say, bananas, and your mind is missing, no offense, a screw." Lloyd sang

"None taken.." Branch said

"Still, whatever mess I land it. Who is always understanding? Nobody else but you." Lloyd sang with a soft smile

Branch's head jolted up and looked at Lloyd and smiled

"Oh, your moodiness is now and then bewildering, and your values may be, so to speak, askew." Branch sang

"Gesundheit." Lloyd said

"Thanks." Branch said

"Who deserves a heros trophy? As we face each catastrophe? Nobody else but you." Branch sang

Lloyd sat beside Branch as the two smiled at each other. they put their feet in the water

"Nobody else but you! It's just our luck, we're stuck together. Nobody else but you is crazy enough to believe we'll come through." They both sang

So your jokes are all, let's face it, prehistoric." Lloyd sang

"And your music sounds like monkeys in zoo." Branch sang

"But when life becomes distressing! Who will I be S.O.Sing?" They sang, kicking their feet in the water

Lloyd looked at Branch and saw a fish on Branch's foot

"If your having trouble guesisng, here's a clue." Lloyd sang in his head

Branch took his foot out of the water and the fish was attached

"Though he seem sort of cowardly. He's just highly protective, and he's nobody else." Lloyd sang in his head

Branch threw the fish back in the water

"But nobody else but you! We've turned into a true blue duo!" They sang

They looked at each other and smiled

"Hard times we had a few!" They sang

"Like we're thrown in the bowl." Branch sang

"Like trees are falling on us." Lloyd sang

"But when I start to sink. May I rather go down with nobody else but Y-O-U!!!" They sang

They stood up and smiled at each other reassuringly

"Let's get back up there." Branch said

"How?" Lloyd asked

"I see Poppy hasn't taught you about how to use your hair yet. It's alright, we'll learn. Let's get out of here first." Branch said

Branch picked up Lloyd and shot his hair at a cliff and went up with him

That's when they saw Poppy with Cream and the others

"Branch. They told me what happened." Poppy said

Cream went and hugged Lloyd

"What happened?" Poppy asked

"I- I made a mistake. I made Lloyd do something he didn't want to and Barb almost killed him and I-"

"Wait, wait, wait, I didn't almost kill him. I just did what you told me to." Barb said

"Yeah!" Knox said, sitting on Barbs shoulder

"So basically not entire you're fault." Delta said

"I mean yeah basically." Barb said

"Look we've already forgiven each other it's ok." Branch smiled

Branch and Lloyd hugged each other with smiles on their faces. Branch wasn't going to make the same mistake again this time.... he would Lloyd he himself and not pressure him
