"Are you sure about this?" Bonnie asks me as we stand in Caroline's kitchen, my hands in hers.

I shake my head, "No. But I don't know what else to do. I'm grown now, I need to make this decision on my own. If that vampire-hybrid thing, guy, I don't know, is even out there with the same Mark, one that represents a Mate, I think I deserve a chance to understand him."

Bonnie furrows her eyebrows, giving a small smile, "Arent you the girl who swore off love?"

I nod, "This is supposed to be different. It's like automatic loyalty. And I need to know if that loyalty is worth it." I pause, glancing at her. "And it's another connection to my dad, you know? He had this experience-"

"And you want to feel it too," Bonnie nods, "It's like the same thing with magic, my Grams lives through me sorta."

"Yeah," I smile, "It's like a way to know them again."

Bonnie returns my smile. "Ok, I'll try this. I don't know how well it will go."

"I trust you," I tell her.

Bonnie takes one last look at the grimoire, before closing her eyes and grasping my hands tighter. I listen to her chant under her breath in Latin, the lights flicker as she does so. I watch her nose, remembering that when my mom used to tell me that when she was young, magic would physically exhaust her. But before any blood can fall, I feel something tighten around me. I gasp as Bonnie continues to chant. After a second, the tightness releases, almost like something lifted off my shoulders.

Bonnie opens her eyes, looking at me skeptically, "Feel any different?"

"Yeah," I smile at her. "It felt like something lifted."

She beams at me. "I did it!"

I nod laughing, "I think you did."

Caroline and Elena come marching down the stairs a second later. "What are you two doing?"

Bonnie and I look at each other laughing, before glancing back at our friends' confusion.

"Magic," I whisper, amusement still in my words.

"Ok, so tell me about this big Witchy plan you've been cooking up" Caroline begs Bonnie as I down another cup of coffee.

Bonnie, nods a smile on her face. It's been too long since Bonnie and I have spent time together. And after her spell this morning, I want nothing more than to be with her. "We still don't know the extent of what Elijah's up to."

"No, we don't," I agree, asking for my third cup of coffee from the waitress. Last night was killer. My body aches, there's a scar on my stomach that shouldn't be there, and my head is killing me.

"So, I'm gonna ask Luka to tell me what he knows," Bonnie says.

I furrow my eyebrows. "Hold up, you're going to ask the guy who betrayed you, to give you the whole truth?"

Caroline nods, "And he's not going to tell you anything."

Bonnie perks up, "I didn't say he was going to have a choice."

"Ooo" I nudge Bonnie's arm playfully, as Caroline and Matt have an awkward stare down over Bonnie's head. She turns to look, before returning to Caroline.

"What was that about?"

Caroline shrugs, a pained look on her face. "Uh, I don't know. I thought we were...I don't know," She breathes.

I give her a sympathetic look, "Sorry Care."

She nods softly. Ditching Bonnie and me to go attempt a conversation with Matt.
