Hey guys! You ever see someone super cute but they're taken so you have to just let it burn when they walk by smiling at you? Is it just me?

Hermione and I sat next to each other as Will and James sat beside us. We were sitting in a square booth that seated six people as we ordered drinks, waiting for Andrew and my Aunt to arrive. Before I arrived in Massachusetts, they had reserved seats for us at a local restaurant in town.

Andrew and my Aunt finally joined us as I scolded them from hiding such a big secret from me. I did enjoy the surprise however, even if I was a tiny bit slow at catching on.

The appetizers we ordered arrived at the table along with our drinks. I went to reach for one of the appetizers before Hermione's hand quickly grabbed mine.

"Alex! You can't eat those, you're allergic!"

I looked to the one dish of appetizers I was reaching for and looked back to Hermione. "What's in them?"

"Jalapeños. I'd rather not have to drive you to the hospital any time soon." She smiled softly as she grabbed the plate of wings she ordered for us to share as she shook her head softly at me. "Gods, where would you be without me?" She joked as I grabbed a chicken wing, thinking to myself before answering.

"Probably the hospital." I smirked as she shook her head at me.

We ordered our entrees and more drinks as we chatted. I looked at Hermione, lovingly as I couldn't help but feel overjoyed at the surprise she had given me earlier. I no longer have to say goodbye to her and wonder when the next time I'll see her will be. Now I can just come home and I'll know she'll either be there already waiting for me or she'll be there whenever she comes home from work.

A small flutter resonated in my chest as I thought about the word. Home. Our home. I still couldn't believe it was happening. I was expecting to wake up, in my bed in New York, still having to drive to Massachusetts and this was all just a hopeful dream.

Hermione's hand fell to my leg under the table as her touch snapped me back to reality. I wasn't dreaming, this was real, and I couldn't be more happier. I placed my hand in hers as I caught her attention.

"When do you start work?"

She smiled, as I knew she was feeling the same euphoria I was currently feeling. "I start Monday. I start at eight so I'll probably have to get up an hour or so earlier. But I'll be home a little after four."

I couldn't help but notice a smile spread on her face as she mentioned what time she would be returning home, confirming she was feeling the same euphoria I was. I scratched my head as I contemplated my next steps for living in this area.

"I don't know where I'll get a job. I'm not sure what I even want to do for work yet."

Hermione shrugged as she sipped her drink. "Why don't you see if there's a comic book store around here to start off at? You seem to know a lot about those."

Andrew cleared his throat as his mouth was full of food. "There's a store a few blocks from here on the tourist strip we call it. Has not only Marvel and DC comics, but historical stuff as well."

James agreed with his twin, just barely cutting him off. "Not to mention your usual tourist attraction stuff for people that visit this area. All shops around here sell your typical witchcraft tourist stuff."

Hermione gripped my hand tighter in hers. "I think working there would be perfect for you right now. Until you figure out what you really want to do. Or see if you can work in a car shop? You know a thing or two about cars?"

I nodded as our food finally arrived. Hermione had ordered fish and chips as I ordered a buffalo chicken burger with fries. I remembered fondly of our time in Australia when we were searching for her parents. We got into a playful discussion about what they should actually be called, chips or fries? Hermione even brought the discussion back to light when she had ordered her meal, staring right into my eyes as she requested the fish and chips, emphasizing the word chips. I had done the same thing to her when I ordered my meal as I emphasized the word fries, never breaking eye contact from her.
