"don't tell me it's dead." slater groaned as dustin smacked the supercomm.

"shit! not now." dustin hissed, "please, not now. will! tilly?!"

"dustin-"

"tilly!" dustin yelled into it, the only reply being garbled audio.

slater rolled his eyes and snatched the walkie-talkie.

"wha-what was that for?!"

"dustin... it's dead." slater told him before pressing the on button.

silence.

"see?"

"wait, uh...." dustin started fumbling his pockets, "i should have-"

"what are you looking for?" slater asked his best friend.

"batteries." dustin admitted, "ah-ha!... shit."

"what now?" slater groaned, "you have four in your hands."

"it's not enough." dustin told him, "come on."

the two got up and began running back to the movie theatre.

"honestly." slater began rambling, "if my walkie-talkie needed more than four batteries to work... i'd return it."

"unfortunately for us, this thing needs twice as many than i've got." dustin told him.

"w-why did you say it like that?" slater frowned, "you could have just said eight like any normal person."

"shhh." dustin shushed him as they entered the movie room.

they sped-walked over to their seats, squeezing past people and eventually sat down.

"do you have any batteries?" dustin asked her, "double-a?"

"why would i have batteries?" erica frowned.

"i always carry batteries." dustin scoffed.

"then what's the problem?" erica inquired.

"he needs eight." slater turned to her.

"eight?" erica raised her brow.

"you never asked me if i had any." slater crossed his arms.

"well... do you?"

"no." slater shook his head, "but it would have been nice if you asked."

"shit." dustin sighed, "guess we'll have to go to plan b."

"plan b? what's plan b?" erica required.

dustin scanned the cinema room, "where... are they?"

"where are who?" slater asked as he leaned to look at steve and robin, "oh..."
