"made it." dustin dropped his duffle bag.

"yeah, only took five hours." max rolled her eyes.

"it wasn't that bad." tilly smiled.

"says the girl who does track." slater scoffed.

"don't even, the only thing i run from is you." tilly smiled.

"asshole."

"dweeb."

"nitwit!"

"loser!"

"nerd!"

"okay!" max rolled her eyes, "that's enough."

tilly stuck her tongue out childishly at the boy before moving away.

"why couldn't we just play d&d?" will groaned.

"oooo, i'm down." tilly patted his shoulder.

"i'm so thirsty." lucas got the water flask him and max were sharing and drank from it.

"did you seriously just drink the rest of our water?" max looked at him in disbelief.

he looked at her before spitting some back in.

"disgusting." slater grimaced as lucas offered it back to max with a smile. she shook her head and walked over to the others.

they had now emptied their bags and built slater and dustin's invention.

"pretty impressive, right?" dustin stared at it.

"yeah."

"it actually is."

"now, you ready to meet my love?" dustin asked them.

"okay, sure."

"yeah."

dustin sat on the grass and turned the radio on, "suzie, this is dustin. do you copy? over."

the radio static hissed, showing no one was there.

"one sec. she's probably," dustin tried to come up with an excuse, "she's still there."

will and tilly shared a bleak glance.

"suzie...this is dustin. do you copy? over." dustin retried, "i'm sure she's there. it's just..."

"yeah." lucas tried to believe him.

"you know, maybe she's, like, busy or..." dustin rambled.

"yeah." lucas nodded again.

"it's around dinnertime."
