Taehyung felt horrible. He had just destroyed the most precious item Jeongguk had, and he could understand him wholeheartedly.
He had spilled coffee all over his notebook about a year ago as well, and nothing could describe the frustration and dejection he experienced. He spent that day at home, rewriting everything he could make out by his soaked notebook to a new one.
And since then, he had been highly careful and always had two extra notebooks with him in case something happened.
So after forcibly eating his food, he grabbed a beer and locked himself in his room, rewriting Jeongguk’s notes from scratch. It was the least he could do for him as an apology.
He only had to write about thirty pages, but it was an awfully challenging task since almost every word was blurry, and he had to use his imagination a little bit.
He spent all night sitting at his desk and only took breaks to use the bathroom. At some point around five in the morning, a few rummaging mixed with banging sounds reached his ears that baffled him, but he didn’t pay much attention. He had to finish writing as soon as possible since he had to wake up in four hours, although he knew there was no way he would attend his first class.
It was probably one hour and a half later when he dropped dead in his bed, drifting to sleep in just a few minutes by his exhausted state.

Hoseok examined the moody caramel-haired boy as they stood by the door, and a spike of gloom pinched his chest when his eyes fell on the elastic bandages that were wrapped around his knuckles.
“You have to stop doing that, Kook.”
Jeongguk dragged his eyes to him, confused, but when he discerned where his gaze was fixated, a long sigh passed through his lips. “I can’t help it.”
“If you can’t help it, let us help you.”
“I’m okay.”
“Yeah, you always are,” he murmured bitterly. “Anyway, where the hell is Yoon and Tae?”
“I don’t know about Yoon and I don’t give a fuck about Kim.”
“Are you still mad about what happened yesterday? He didn’t do it on purpose, Kook. It really was an accident.”
“And I really don’t care.”
Yoongi swept in the scene from nowhere then, his expression solemn. “Let’s go.”
“What about Tae?”
“He’ll skip the first class. He’s exhausted.” He cast a hard look at Jeongguk as he yanked the door open, a look the younger boy perceived but didn’t know its meaning.
The ride was piercingly silent, and all Hoseok could do was keep his mouth shut as well. He was the one who would lighten the mood between the three usually, but he knew if he asked Yoongi what was wrong, he would lash out at him. He had that look. That look that no one should mess with.

Taehyung waited near Jeongguk’s locker for him to appear, anxious to the core about giving him the notebook. He will appreciate it, right? He will accept my apology now, right? He has to. He will.
All hopeful thoughts wandering in his mind came crashing down the moment they locked eyes from afar and the younger just continued his way as if he never saw him.
