POV KAIDEN

Some of the words in this book will be Italian and Spanish. I will be using a translator to translate them, so please feel free to correct me if anything is wrong.

Chapter name: A girl named Tivelly Cooper

Case brings his cigarette up to his lips, taking an inhale.

"You gotta stop smoking," I tell him as he blows smoke out of his mouth. He rolls his eyes at me before stepping out of my car, tossing his cigarette into a trash can.

"How are Cora and Reece?" Grey asks, scooting to the middle seat to pop his head in between the front seats. "You're squishing me! Move over!" Jayce shoves Grey back into his own seat.

"They are fine," I say bluntly.

Cora and Reece, my sisters. Cora, the older one, is in Italy for college. Reece, the younger one, thirteen, always arguing with my mother.

"You visit Alessia recently?" Case hops back in the car: Alessia, my other older sister. She died when I was ten. I guess that makes me technically older now.

I shake my head before I remembered her death before it plays in my head like a movie.

"I will soon," I respond.

Case, Grey, and Jayce. All my childhood friends. All pure idiots. The only guys I speak to in the school. Everyone else runs on alcohol and nicotine.

"Yo, can you drop us off at the party?" Case asks.

"Sure." And with that, I'm off.

I sit alone in my car, minutes after dropping them off. I barely ever go to parties. I barely ever socialize.

What about the girls at the party? They always come up to me. Girls are too weak. Girls will get hurt if a guy gets close to them.

I see many girls being attacked by a guy, being heartbroken by one. After Alessia died in my arms, I eventually tried to get with a girl, her sweet facade fell off, and she revealed her possessive side.

My mind goes back to when I was fifteen, dating Avelina. She had bright red hair and green eyes. Her facial features are soft, making her look completely innocent.

"What do you mean you're leaving?" I can see a hint of crazy speckle in her eyes as she speaks. "Not just the gang but you also," I reply.

"Wow, that's cold, man. You've been with the gang for two years." Monty stands up, a smile stretching across his face. "What's cold is him leaving me!" Avelina blows cigarette smoke into my face angrily.

I cough before slapping the cigarette out of her hand, watching it fall to the floor. She stares at her cancer stick for a moment in distraught.

"I'll have to tell capo about you leaving," Monty smirks, watching my face twist in anger.

"The Boss is going to make a deal with him. We don't need any outside people knowing." I glare at him. "No one gets out of the gang alive, dearest." Avelina quickly swipes her knife and places it against my neck.

She knows more techniques than I do from being in this lifestyle since she was eight when her father joined. She knows how to kill and hide the body.

She's older than me by five months, which twists her thoughts into thinking she calls all of the shots when it comes to me. I haven't had even a second of freedom with her on my ass the past seven months of us dating.
