KAIDEN POV

Chapter name: Unreasonable punishment

"You don't need to yell mother!" I glare at my angry mom as I place my hand on Tivellys shaking shoulder.

Grey sneaks to the door behind my mother, glancing into the kitchen.

"She put your sister in danger!" My mother states, trying not to switch to Italian.

"Don't you think she's been through enough?" I argue back.

Tivelly shifts in her seat, not daring to look up from her lap.

"I... I don't think you can stay here longer."

My eyes widen as Tivellys shoulders shake, whimpers escape from her lips.

I can see Reeces eyes widen from where she sits. She immediately looks up at our mother. "She protected me!" Reece grabs onto moms arm.

"You can't kick her out for this!" I plead.

I glance down at Tivelly who wipes the tears from her eyes.

"It's not just because of what happened! You two don't need to be under the same room. I know you are dating. So che a volte si intrufola nella tua stanza." (I know she sneaks into your room sometimes)

My attention goes to Tivelly as she jumps to her feet, almost knocking the kitchen chair over.

She takes a second to gather her words, her shaky hand moving her hair behind her ear.

She looks at my mom, "I... I understand. I'll go get my stuff." With those words she moves around us, leaving the kitchen as Reece begs her not to go.

My mom looks at me, opening her mouth to speak but I don't wait for her words as I follow Tivelly. Grey gives me a concerned look as I follow her.

"Are you planning to go back to Leo's?" I ask her, trying to grab her hand to stop her from packing. She looks at me, yanking her hand out of my grasp.

She puts her hair in a low ponytail and zips her jacket up.

I repeat my question as she forced her tied shoes onto her feet.

"I'm going to live with Dan. If she wants me gone then there's nothing I can do other than listen to her." She swings her backpack over her shoulders and stands on her tippy toes, giving me a soft peck on the lips.

I don't want to part from her her soft, glossy lips. Her sweet scent makes me want to hold her in my arms.

She separates from me, giving me a soft smile before going out into the living room, hugging Grey and Reece.

"I'm grateful to you for letting me stay. Sorry I've become too much to handle." I can hear the sadness laced in her voice as her lower lip trembles.

"I hope you find your forever home. Unfortunately, your forever home can't be ours." My mom opens the door for her.

I feel my brows furrow. Does she have no remorse?

I grab Tivellys hand, stopping her from walking any farther, "I can take you there-"

"No Kaiden. Abbiamo delle cose da discutere." (We have things to discuss). My mom grabs me back.

Annoyed with my mom, I can't help but roll my eyes. I look at Grey, taking my keys from my pocket, "Take hee home."

I toss him the keys, ignoring my moms look of disapproval over the situation.

Grey catches them, promising her safe arrival without a scratch on my car.
