Tivelly POV

Chapter name: the rest of my life with you

I catch the fruit that Kaiden tosses at me, sending him a mischievous smirk, "Your days of hitting me in the face with apples are over Mr. Rivera."

"I think she's getting sick of your antics." Kaidens sister adjusts herself on the other side of the table, her eyes glued to her laptop screen.

Living with Cora hasn't been bad, it's only been a week since we have arrived in Italy. Kaiden and I are lucky she is letting us stay with her.

"She will never get sick of me." Kaiden comes up behind me, snuggling his face into my neck. I let out a giggle as his nose tickles me.

His arms snake around my waist, holding my back against his stomach.

There's no doubt in this moment that I will spend the rest of my life by Kaiden's side. I am flat out utterly in love with this man.

I look down at the engagement on my finger, reminding myself how far I've come.

I still have nightmares from my abuse every day, constantly waking up screaming until Kaiden puts me back to sleep in his arms.

I worry about being a bother to Cora but at the end of the day I just think she's glad to have her brother not fighting for his life every day. We are safe in Italy. There's no one after us anymore.

I wanted to die before. But now, I live every day waiting for the next one with the love of my life. Every day brings us closer and closer to our wedding, closer to spending the rest of our lives together.

I admit it's lonely without the old friends I had, I just suddenly up and left them without warning. I have their numbers and I text them often but it's not the same as seeing them.

I miss them but I don't think I'll ever move back to the states, I'm gonna stay here, maybe visit time to time but who knows.

I want them to come down here and see the house and see where we live now, but I know that won't be until the wedding. If they'd even want to come.

But for now I'll live day by day.
