Chapter 5

(I imagine Danny as a younger version of this man for some reason )

Gravitys pov

We were now about a mile from the orphanage so we decided to take rest under a large tree.

The only sound was our heavy breathing.
Joy was the first to break the silence.

"What now"

"You said that the cabin was on a hill right" Danny asks and I nod.

"There are so many hills in this state, what's the name?"

"I - I don't remember something that starts with S"

"Sligoville you mean"

"Yes, yes that's it. You've been there before?"

"Nah, but I've heard of it. What we need right now is a map."

He digs through his pant pocket and shows me some money along with the ring.

"This is all I have, it's not enough to get us through"

"We could sell the ring" Joy beams.

I send her a death glare but immediately regret it when I see the expression on her face.

"No" I say calmly

She just nodded.

We decided that we were gonna go to the nearest town and look for cheap food.
None of us hadn't eaten since yesterday and we were starving.

We decided to ask around.
We saw a man and went up to him.

"Hi we were wondering-"

In a flash, the man grabs Dannys bag out of his hand.

This is a weird place.

We were stunned for a while, but quickly started running after him with Danny in the lead.

We ran through alley after alley until,
We lost him.

"Fuck!" Danny screams

"Calm dow-"

"Calm down? CALM DOWN?! that was the last of my money and you want me to calm down! Are you dum-"

He's cut off when my hand connects with his cheek.

"Look Daniel the money got taken. Ok. But shouting isn't gonna do anything about it. So I suggest you get your shit together and stop taking your anger out on us"

He sighs and runs his hand through his hair.

"Ok, let's just find a place to sit and think"

Did he not realize that I slapped him?

We find an outdoor patio where people were eating.

You know that awkward moment when people are eating in front of you and you're starving?
No? Ok.

I look over to Danny who looks as if he has the world on his shoulders.
Frankly, that's how i felt also.

"Ok" Danny speaks to Joy an I " stay here, I'll be right back"

He gets up before I can question him.

Joy looks to me but I just shrug.

He later comes back with 3 sandwiches.
I want to ask him where he got the money but I was way too hungry to even care.

We decided to walk around a little bit to see if we could see a map anywhere.

"There they are" I heard someone shout and looked around to see a woman with a police officer beside her.

Was she talking about us?

Without even asking any questions, the officer began to arrest Danny.

"Hey you can't do that"

He arrested me also.

They said they didn't think Joy was involved so they didn't arrest her.

And that, ladies and gentlemen,  is how we ended up in jail.

For 3 effin sandwiches.
