Chapter 6

They put us in conjoined cells.
I could see Danny through a small window, he's sitting on the bed with his head in his hands.

I look to the other cell and see a girl staring out of space, deep in thought.
I wonder what she's in here for.

I turn back to Danny.

"Pssst"
He looks up.

"You ok?"
He doesn't say anything, just shakes his head no.

"Look, we're gonna get out of her ok, and were gonna find Joy."

He nods.

"I'm sorry" he begins "for getting you in here"

"Hey, you did what you had to do"

He sighs and looks away.

"Hey Danny"
He doesn't look at me.

"Daniel"
Now he looks.

"I'm glad you came with me."

A while later a police officer comes in to give us food.

An idea suddenly strikes me.

I silently beckon Danny closer. I wink at him and he seems to catch on.
He comes closer and I immediately wrap my hands around his neck through the little window.

"Act like your choking" I whisper to him.
He does as I say, even throwing in a few gurgling noises.

"Hey!"
I finally got the policemans attention.

He unlocks my cell and yanks me back from Danny.

Everything's going as planned.

He takes me out of my cell, probably to a closed off cell where I can't hurt anyone.
I pass Dannys cell and he gives me a nod.

The officer drags me along.
I spot the imprint of keys in his pocket.

I pretend to trip and lean on him for support,  snatching the keys in the process.

"Umm, I need to use the bathroom" I say to the officer.

He sighs dramatically.

He soon leads me to a bathroom with 4 stalls.
He comes inside the bathroom and I go into the stall while he waits at the stall door.

"I might take a while." I shout. Hinting that I had to take a sh*t.

I lay flat on my stomach and start to crawl on the dirty floor.
But now is not the time to think about how dirty the floor is.

I stop crawling when I reach the last stall.

I can't help but wonder what would happen if the stalls were occupied.

I brace myself before opening the stall door.
I see the officer at the original stall door looking at something on his phone and laughing.

I tip toe out of the bathroom.

When I turn the corner, I break into a sprint.
I run straight to Dannys cell and take the keys from out of my bra which is where I put them when the officer wasn't looking.

I try a key in the lock. It doesn't work.
Shit, the officer should be here any minute now.

"Hurry" Danny says, adding extra pressure on me.

After trying two more keys, I finally get the right one.

Then he does something very un-Danny.
He hugs me.

"Hey" a female voice breaks us apart.
We look to see a girl in another cell.

"Please, I need to get out of here."

My conscience gets the best of me and I unlock her cell.

We freeze in our tracks when we see the same officer.

He reaches for his tazer but in a flash Danny tackles him to the floor, causing the tazor to roll out of his hands.

I watch in horror as the officer tries to reach for his walkie talkie thing to call for backup.

What do I do? What do I do?

I reach for the tazor.

Am I really gonna do this?

I go in to taze the officer but Danny keeps on getting in the way.

I'm startled when the same girl I freed hits the officer with a wooden chair, breaking it into pieces.
It knocks the officer out cold.

"Hi, I'm Summer"

Was she really introducing herself at a time like this?
Danny gets up and stares at her.
What's that look? Admiration? Apreciation?

Just then, we here an alarm go off.
I was expecting this.

All of a sudden, Danny begins to strip out of his clothes.
Summer begins to shamelessly eye rape him.

He strips the policeman out of his uniform and begin to put it on.

He leaves and tells us to wait.
Summer looks at me.

"Your boyfriend's so hot"
Awkward....

"He's not my boyfriend"

"Oh" she says happily."What's your name"

"Gravity"

"Gravy?"

"Gravity!"

"Just playing with yah"

Before I could answer, the alarm stops and Danny rushes back into the room, breathing heavy.

"We need to go"

"What did you do?"

"No time to explain" He grabs my hand and leads me out, Summer following close behind.

We walk until we meet a fence.
It was locked.

We hear footsteps around the corner.

"Hide" Danny tells us which we do.

I hear Dannys voice before the gates open.

"You can come now"

"How-"

He points to the police uniform he's wearing in answer.

We run through the gates and never stopped until we were a good distance away from the small jail.

Great, so now not only were we orphanage escapees we were also wanted criminals.

"What were you guys in for?"

"Long story. What about you?"

"Drugs"Summer says. " But they weren't even mine. I'm a stripper and one of the other girls set me up. She's just jealous cause I always get the guys.
She says looking at Danny who gives her a blank stare.

The second hand embarrassment is just too real.

"So where you guys headed?"
She asks.

Danny looks at me asking for permission to tell her.
I nod.

"Sligoville"

"Really? My uncle has a place up there, he-"

"So you know how to get there? I cut her off and she nods.

I sigh happily.

Now all we need to do is get Joy and get the hell out of this city.
